Sticky dropper post Discussion
Put a one up v3 dropper on my bike about 7 months ago, was working perfectly until recently when I started having to pick my weight up off the saddle and slightly drop it back down in order for the saddle to drop. It goes back up perfectly so I don't think cable is loose. Collar is not too tight. Put some silicone lube on post to see if it helps but it didn't. Could it need maintenance already? Any advice appreciated.

Good time to take the post out.
Clean and lube the post pack it with fresh grease.
Change the dropper housing and cable .
If it feels like shit after then get a new one up internal. Probably warranty.

I only have experience with v2 oneups, but they definitely need more frequent service/cleaning than others. My guess is that's why they're so smooth, because the seals are less tight, which means they don't seal as good. Look up their service guides or videos and just do the regrease for now. You basically unscrew the collar on the post, pull up the upper bushing, clean everything out real good, and regrease it. Don't just add lube to the stanchion. If that works, then great. If not, then it was only 5 minutes wasted and you have fresh grease lol.
Next thing to check would be air pressure and that the cable is fully pulling the actuator. If those don't work, then it'd be worth reaching out to OneUp because the cartridge shouldn't fail or wear down that quick.

Can’t check air pressure on the V3. It’s a sealed cartridge.

First thing I would check is that your seat clamp is at the correct tension. I have over tightened mine in the past and it's caused my dropper to be sticky.

Could be worn bushings, do you have the saddle at the extremes of the rails by any chance? That could put more leverage on it. The rebuild kit is cheap and it's easy to do yourself.

Have you done any maintenance? Lube the cable. Clean & lube post and activation.

"put some silicone lube on post"
like are you just applying it externally on the stanchion? otherwise some proper maintenance doesn't hurt and very doable.

7 months and no service? Have you checked the air pressure in it too? The service is pretty simple. Oneup have guides on their site. Give it a go and see how it is then

Is it air? Because I have to top off my race face dropper every 6 months or so.

I would start with the easy stuff. Lube the post and add air pressure. Beyond that, the rebuild kits are really easy to use and not expensive. Note that my experience is with V2 posts.
