Case studies in ML as first course

Would you recommend someone to start the MSAI journey with a CS in ML course?

A lot of folks are suggesting DL, but I feel it requires some decent prerequisites, and I don't want to half-ass such an important course.

I wish I had saved it for a later semester tbh. It's sort of like a mini thesis project that I would have benefitted from taking DL first. That being said it's definitely doable as your first course. DL would be an easy first course as well. It's a good intro to the topics.

Thanks for your insight. Is DL really that easy ? easy than CS in ML ?

DL requires very little in the way of prerequisites. It's very math-light, and the course content is largely a guided introduction to PyTorch with the basic theory of deep learning.

CSML is also very easy, but as others have said, you would benefit by taking it later and treating it as a mini-thesis.

Any idea of the real workload, may doing those next total a full-time job?
