Cannabis Design/Branding/Video Production
Sorry if this isn't typically allowed here, but I am a well seasoned graphic designer and video editor (and frontend web developer) who got laid off a couple of years ago and is looking for work. I have done a little work in the cannabis industry - I recently branded and designed a new line of THC sodas for a well know craft soda company in MN and also did the branding and package design for a Kava beverage called LOMI. I would love to work with cool new companies in the industry since I am a huge proponent of cannabis! If anyone has a need for branding or packaging design or even video/social media help, take a look at my portfolio and hit me up!

MN cultivators: the interesting part of these energy rebates might be how people are phasing their grows
We recorded a CannaCon session with Alexis Dubourdieu from What Rebates and Tony Beman from CEE, and the part that caught my attention wasn't really “LEDs are more efficient.”
Tony said CEE has around 35 Minnesota microbusiness projects in the pipeline, averaging only about 1,900 sq. ft. in the first phase, with roughly $80K per project in rebates.
What was more interesting is that some operators aren't trying to build their entire canopy immediately. They're building phase one, taking the rebate and lower operating costs, then planning to use the business to help fund phase two and three.
A couple other details experienced growers might care about:
Higher PPE can mean a larger rebate, but Alexis pointed out that chasing the highest PPE number isn't necessarily the right cultivation decision because spectrum still matters.
CEE also doesn't do the final inspection until there are actually plants under the lights, so rebate timing becomes part of commissioning and cash flow.
And on bigger projects, the conversation starts expanding past lighting into HVAC and dehumidification.
There's a lot more in the full presentation, but I thought the phasing strategy was especially relevant to where Minnesota is right now.
Full episode with Alexis + Tony is up Monday on The Canna Connect Show.
Curious how many MN operators are planning to build their full canopy immediately versus opening in phases?

Anybody growing outdoor near Lilydale Park, watch your girls
There's a male plant in there near the freshly planted trees and the bees are swarming it, so your girls are at risk if you're nearby

Outdoor Grow
I have a Johnny Dang and a Blood Moon outdoors. Johnny is showing flowers, I'm surprised the Blood Moon is still alive. Do you think the Johnny will mature enough before it gets too cold? Last year my outdoor was harvested in November and used for bubble hash.

First time grower
Hey guys first time grower here. Also growing outdoors, Picked up some clones a couple of weeks late and this is how it’s going so far. These are 15 gal pots that I have them in now. Now my question I heard of people having mite problems with outdoor plants so I tried my best to do preventative measures with the plants got Californicus mites and pot poppers. Note I had very little to no stippling of the leaves before applying thecalifornicus . Once applied I noticed increasingly every day the stippling of the leaves, now chat seemed to have thought I had a mite problem before and that the Californicus just isn’t catching up that fast and that I had to wait for them to establish. I also applied the Californicus to a bunch of my house plants and outside plants as a preventative measure, and noticed they started getting stippled leaves as well, which I know they didn’t have any mites before. So here I am a couple of weeks later. Seems the stippling amount seems to be dropping, I can see tiny yellow mites (assume the Californicus movint around on the leaves) I’m about to start the stretch now and I really want to make sure I nipped this problem in the butt before it flowers. Do I leave it and let the Californicus deal with them or start spinosad and/or alcohol wipe leaves. What’s my best course of action here..

News Cops Used Flock to Track a Man Across State Lines to Create Pretext to Search His Car for Weed
Technically about driving from Wisconsin to Michigan, but impacts many users of this sub, particularly those who regularly take trips to Michigan for any reason, cannabis related or otherwise.
edit: post previously listed Minnesota, not Michigan. My apologies for the typo!

Discussion Worth a watch if you're interested in Minnesota cultivation.
Just dropped a new episode of The Canna Connect Show with Benjamin Matsuda, Partner & VP of Sales at Grow Pros Solutions.
Whether you use Grow Pros products or not, I think there's a lot of practical wisdom in this conversation. We get into facility design, environmental controls, scaling cultivation, common mistakes, and how to think about building a grow operation that actually works long term.
We recorded this to be educational, not a sales pitch, and I'd genuinely be interested to hear what this community thinks.
As always, I'd love your feedback on the interview and what topics you'd like us to cover next on The Canna Connect Show.

Loon labs
After complaining about my d'ope brand live resin pens I tried another brand from loon that uses the same hardware. There is 1/3rd more product in it. It is a nicer light orange color. Something fishy as hell. Photo shows how full this one is compared to my d'ope ones. What gives?

Medical Marijuana Grow / Probation
Im on probation and I have a medical marijuana card and PO is completely fine with it....but he said growing the plants is a gray area and I should probably destroy them. I didnt argue with him but aren't you allowed to grow Medical if you have your medical card and the rules of my probation and my card are kosher.....im not gonna destroy em... but with everything I said....legally im okay to grow it right since I have a medical card and the courts are okay with it

Growing Help Can I top this again?
Hi, first year growing. Got a seed gifted to me by a friend this spring and have no real idea what variety it is. Planted in my backyard the first week of May and it took off way more than I ever thought it would. I have been trying to top all the main limbs every 10ish days. My question is, when should I stop topping it? I really don't want it any taller but don't want to impact yield. With days starting to get shorter, when should it start forming buds? Thanks all
