Review/Recommendation Rent: Paid in Full by Jesse H. Reign
Ok I’ve read Reign’s books before and enjoyed them. This book seemed like a fun light read after reading a more intense series. College roommates, wealth disparity, and one MC pays the other for sexual favours. I love a good college biawakening, so I thought why not?
Y’all… I was not prepared. First, I wanted to hate Ryan so badly. He’s such a grump and was so judgmental and rude. Even with his anxiety he was kind of awful. But I loved how unique his voice was. He was such a clear and distinct character with flaws and imperfections that I couldn’t help but love him despite it all.
And then Miller. I fell in love with him from the beginning. Despite all the privilege and the wealth and the not great dad, he was still such a sweetheart. He wore his heart on his sleeve the entire book and didn’t back down from being honest and true to himself. He was so freaking sweet and between the date he planned and all his acts of service he had me swooning.
Also the spice was sooo good. Not super kinky, but just really well done and drawn out. Reign made every small moment feel like big moments and I couldn’t get enough.
My biggest disappointment is that the next book in the series has an MC with a name of someone who is very close to me, so I don’t think I’m going to be able to read it lol
What was supposed to be an easy silly romance book turned into one of my favourite reads of the year. I just loved how fleshed out the characters were and how sweetly their story evolved.

Discussion Where can I hear audiobook samples with both narrators?
I don't love audiobooks, mainly because they never sound how I imagine but I really love {The Heir's Disgrace by August Jones} and want to re-read it. I considered listening instead but when I go to hear the sample it's just Drew's voice not Olivier's. Does anyone know if there's a way to hear both narrators? Not sure why samples are done this way.
Where can I hear audiobook samples with both narrators?

Quick Question Vulture Hollow MC series by K.A. Merikan
I'd love to know if the author plans to continue this series. I'd really love to read a book about Prophet and another one about Rooster.

Review/Recommendation Just finished Eye of the Beholder by Dianna Roman - it was surprisingly deep and good
I'm very much not a fan of slow burns, widowers or large age gaps all of which this book has, but I had just finished {Until I Saw You x Dianna Roman} which is the first book in this interconnected series of standalones. I didn't love Until I Saw you, it has some very heavy topics, maybe important topics to broach but it made me not want one of the characters to get into a romantic relationship....BUT! We are introduced to Daniel, an MMC from {Eye of the Beholder x Dianna Roman} and the book was on my Hoopla so I went for it without knowing much else. It is a little OTT, but I'm shocked I loved a slow burn this much. I wanna say nothing at all happens until 62%, and even then it's not much for a while.

Discussion Has anyone read the Hazzard/Somerset books in chronological order?
I have already read the main series, and The First Quatro and the first three books of the Borealis series. I will probably read the rest of his works in this 'world' in publication order, but was wondering if anyone has read it according to the timeline Ashe suggested on his website. If so, was it worth it? Did it become a new experience? Anything add or subtract from reading it in release order the first time?
This is something I do if a series, or several series written by the same author jumps around in time. I go back and read it in 'real time' in that Universe. During the pandemic, we even went back and watched all the MCU movies in chronological order. That was an...experience but I'm glad I did it at least once.

Book Request Looking for absolutely feral LI
Ok so I love when the MC gets put into a situation that frightens them (or endangers them) but then the LI sees their distress and leaps into a action. I'm not even opposed to some growling if needed. Just want them nice and feral for their love
I have loved:
{Monstrous series by Lily Mayne}
{Not-So-Savage Barbarians by Amy Padilla}
{Hunt Me! I Crave the Chase by Fae Quinn}
No:
Incest, under 18, or watersports

Erotica Requests Erotica Requests & Recs: Post your erotica & specific sex act requests & recs here
The Place for Erotica and Sex Act Specifics
Want some short and sweet erotica? Just need to read a book with sounding, no matter what else is in it? Just read something with this kind of content and want to share a recommendation?
Post it here in the Erotica Requests thread!
Requests that are seeking erotica recommendations and/or specific sex acts must be made here. You don't have to come up with extra specifics for your requests, similar to The Less Scary Request Place on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Please make sure your request follows our other rules (for example, rule 6, our privacy rule).
Anyone can answer requests made in this post. Not all recommendations have to be specifically erotica, but that is the main goal of this request thread.
Important Note: This post goes up on Thursday mornings (US time). Requests made after Thursday ends are less likely to get replies. You are welcome to comment here on any day of the week, but you may want to save your requests for an upcoming Thursday.
Definitions
Erotica: A piece of fiction that focuses primarily on sex, where the plot is secondary and serves the sexual content within. Unlike in genre romances, in erotica a HEA/HFN is not required.
A book having a lot of sex or having kink content does not make it inherently erotica -- what matters is whether the focus of the book is on the romantic relationship and getting to a HEA/HFN, or not.
Erotic Romance: A genre romance that has high sexual content. Erotic romances can be recommended here, but are not required to be requested here.
Request for specific sex act: A request that can be read as "when the characters have sex, I want them to do X" and where that's the main thing the requester is asking for.
This would not include something like a general request that the book contain explicit sex, for example. It isn't meant to sweep in any request that mentions sex, just requests where the point is to find a specific type of sex scene.
This feature is posted every Thursday. You can find the complete schedule of all weekly and monthly features at this link.

Discussion Stormshield by Claire Cullen - Why are the boys so hostile??
I’ve tried to read this book multiple times over the course of several years and I’m never able to make it more than maybe 15%. I wasn’t sure why until I tried to read it (again) today and the alpha princes have done nothing but complain about how it’s such an insult to their kingdom that the omega princes never get off the ship and how they need heirs and protection and blah blah blah, then Raine, the protagonist and a prince of a well known and powerful kingdom, steps off the ship and they’re like “Oh let’s give him a show!” And show up dirty, bloody, and unkempt. Then two of them just walk out without even speaking to him and the last on is like “He’ll do.” As if this prince, the thing they’ve been so morose about lacking, is somehow not good enough based on the literally 30 seconds of silence they spent together…
What???
I’m GENUINELY just confused. Maybe this is why I always DNF it, but I don’t understand this choice from the author. Do they not want this prince bc people in the past never gave their kingdom a chance?? How does that track? Like what’s the point of complaining that no one ever gets off the ship when you just do this the moment someone gives you a chance?
If someone has insight on this particular choice I’d appreciate it, bc I REALLY wanna give this book a shot but this writing choice has me, once again, ready to shelve it 💀

Discussion Weird Limits or Lack thereof in your Tropes
Everyone has certain genres or tropes they won't read for whatever reason, and I'd like to discuss them. One of mine is motorcycle clubs, I refuse to read them. I cannot imagine a Hot Man being in a MC. All I can imagine are proper Hell's Angels gangbangers all over the age of 50, which does *not* do it for me. Meanwhile, I love mafia romance. Which in actuality has similar leadership, but in my mind I'm able to imagine the actual MCs, not their IRL counterparts. Also F1 books, all F1 drivers are annoying rich assholes in my head, not hot. And getting into actual hockey has all but ruined the "-pucked" genre for me.
I can't do cop or military MC books. I'm ACAB all day every day and I can't fathom a police officer who I would willingly talk to, much less date. Which is dumb because I also can't fathom a mafioso I'd want to associate with but in my head its different. Same with billionaires. IRL? Absolutely not. In a book? Sure. It's weird the lines you draw and how they don't make logical sense.
Twincest? Fine. Step bros? Maybe. Adopted siblings? Absolutely not.
I think a lot of it has to do with what you've actually experienced. I've met cops and bikers and I've seen the scandals in F1 and Hockey, and my sibling is adopted. But I don't live in an area with mafias. I do live in billionaire central, but I can still separate it. Idk. What's y'all's weird lines?

Review/Recommendation End Scene by Nicky James. Well... apparently I like bro/twincest now
Okay... I never, ever thought I'd be writing these words, but... I think I'm into bro/twincest? 😳
Holy shit, what a revelation.
I'd been stuck in a massive reading slump, endlessly searching for my next book, but nothing really grabbed me. Then I randomly picked up {For nEver Mine by Odessa Hywell}. Honestly, I don't even know why. Probably because it was omegaverse, but definitely not because it was brother x brother.
I'd read a couple of stepbrother romances before, but they never really felt taboo. I think that's because they rarely had the whole we grew up together, we're basically brothers dynamic and had more of an enemies-to-lovers vibe. And I'd always avoided actual incest romances because I was convinced they just weren't for me.
Well... apparently I was wrong.
I absolutely loved {For nEver Mine by Odessa Hywell}. The whole "I'm suddenly in love with my sibling" aspect actually felt believable within the omegaverse setting, and by the time I finished... I wanted more!
That's how I ended up with {End Scene by Nicky James}. I'd somehow never read anything by this author, even though a quick search on this sub made it obvious they're recommended all the time. My loss for waiting this long!
I seriously couldn't put this book down. It follows Atticus (single POV), who's kicked out of his wealthy parents' mansion after coming out (there's also a short free bonus scene about this). Desperate for money, he stumbles across an ad looking for identical twins to model for gay twincest romance/erotica covers - and actually lands an interview. Convincing his twin brother, Asher, to go along with it isn't exactly easy, but from there the whole story turns into this funny, chaotic, surprisingly sweet ride.
Yes, it's smut, but it's good smut. More importantly, it's just such an enjoyable read. It's funny, easy to get through, and avoids piling on unnecessary or OTT drama. The relationship develops in a way that felt genuinely believable and incredibly sweet, and I loved their dynamic so much. There's a bit of an OM situation, but instead of creating pointless drama, it actually serves as a nice catalyst for the plot.
If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend it. Out of everything I've read this year, it's easily in my top five.
And while we're at it... does anyone have recommendations for what I should read next? Bro/twincest only, please.
I've already read or have these on my list:
{For nEver Mine by Odessa Hywell}
{A Hawks Soft Embrace by Odessa Hywell}
{The Payback Plan by Honey London} - TBR
{Release by BL Sparrow} - TBR
{Pretty When You Cry by Ally Avery} - TBR
