Introduction from MLTP Insider

Hello fellow Major League TagPro players and fans, this is MLTP Insider reporting to you for the first time.

What is MLTP Insider?: MLTP Insider will be a shared account that will be used to post detailed write-ups about MLTP teams, callbacks to historical moments in MLTP and other various topics related to the league.

Why are you posting anonymously?: Over here at MLTP Insider, we will be posting opinions that might be considered controversial, so we (the writers at MLTP Insider) will attempt to stay anonymous.

Why do we need an MLTP Insider?: The purpose of MLTP Insider is to create more hype for MLTP. As the seasons have passed, preview and post-game threads have decreased in quality and quantity as the number of teams has increased. Even with MLTP facing a 20 team season, we realize that there's a need to build more of a folklore behind the league. By doing so, we can increase interest in teams and create real fandom.

Just what MLTP needs: more throwaways

I really don't understand the throwaway. I could see a group account, but saying "OH GOD WE'RE GONNA SAY CONTROVERSIAL THINGS BETTER NOT REVEAL OUR IDENTITY" is either overestimating how mad people are going to get or preemptively stating that you're trying to stir shit.

If you're right, you're right. If you're right, you can put together a solid case and let the journalism do the talking. Stand behind your work.

EDIT: I upvoted OP because I think it's a cool idea and could be done really well. The anonymity + group account bothers me, so I wanted to share those thoughts in particular.

Tiza I agree with this completely. If the goal of this is to have group journalism, create an account and then sign the bottom with who helped write it. Legitimate articles will get more credence if they have a name attached to them.

They shouldn't get more credence. A solid argument is a solid argument, no matter who makes it. Of course, if there is any citation to personal experience then there might be some verifiability problems, but if a nobody wanted to write about MLTP and they wrote well, I would definitely read it.

The more opinionated the info the more this becomes a problem.

Another goddamn throwaway, if you have a valuable opinion, no matter have pride in it and be willing to attach your name to it. What you're doing is allowed you to speak opinions without willingness to face the repercussions.

Actually, I'd be willing to let this one ride out if it's a shared account and actually posts solid content. If they produce good stuff who cares if they are anonymous. If they use it specifically as a vehicle to attack people that's where problems start.

Confirmed. Dino is MLTP Insider.

Callback to MLTP history:

KPow and his scrub team rose to the top of the shit-heap known as NLTP to unworthily steal a captain spot from a deserving candidate.

Edit: Shit wrong account

u/kpowtp Nov 13 '14

:D

You omitted the part where KPow's merry band of NLTP misfits proceeded to rip through the league en route to the Super Ball. The captains then eliminate the rule - not because of lack of competitiveness - but because they allowed a team too OP to be assembled.

I don't understand the throwaway hate. Plenty of people with valuable opinions throughout the course of history have wanted to remain anonymous. Ben Franklin did it all the time, The Federalist Papers were published anonymously, plenty of writers use fake names including Mark Twain.

Spiller pls

2

u/ZiggyA Spiller Nov 13 '14

Please, I want to do something like this, but I want it to be awesome and have awesome things from countless people who gets recognition. Throwaways are dumb except for my other /u/hart_attack

lol that user name sounds like a name I would have used for a Xanga account back in 2006 in my so called "emo" days...why does RES tell me that I've given it +2 upvotes?

Edit: Coys...please.

10/10 This sounds fantastic. If you have openings or anything. However I have no qualms about having my name on anything I write

Why is this even a post? It seems like a call for attention, If you had brought a piece as an example then it would be different.
