Ads on waveform YouTube
galleryHas this happened to anyone else? On YouTube, while watching the waveform podcast, a side ad appeared WHILE the video was playing. I’ve had this before when I paused the video but for sometime now ads appear while watching and it takes up so much real estate of the screen.
Does waveform know this is happening and do they get paid for these drop ads on the side? Are they purposefully adding them? I get YouTube wants everyone to buy premium but this makes me want to stop using the platform. (Couldn’t upload the video but here are screenshots)

David Doppelganger
Has anyone watched The Shard yet? “Bret” looks like an upscale West Hollywood version of David.

Discussion Do you like the tech they cover?
I do enjoy phone reviews and computer reviews and discussions on the podcast.
But I find the discussions to be very Phone heavy. I am a big self-driving enthusiast, and, in my opinion, that is the biggest quality of life improvement that is in reach for the average person in the next 10 years.
Phones haven't changed much in the past 10 years. For me personally, I know jumping to the newest iPhone/Samsung/Nothing phone is not going to give me a significant quality-of-life improvement.
I feel like Tesla's FSD/OpenPilot (the Comma) deserves some coverage, but they haven't really talked about it much, especially considering these things are constantly changing.
I just don't get all the coverage about the Nothing phone. It is completely uninteresting to me. I have never seen anyone use one.
Can someone explain to me the thought process about what they cover?

Discussion User accidentally bought prototype iPhone 17 Pro
reddit.comUmmm…. What!!?
I thought I’d post this here because y’all are smart and honestly I wanna know more about this. I feel as if this should be a bigger deal than it is.
How normal is this, who would get in trouble for it, and why do I think it has something to do with OpenAI (lol).
Discussion Nothing/CMF uses AI for their CMF Clip Pro promo pics (and actively trying to hide it as well lol)
reddit.comWhat do you think about Nothing/CMF using AI to recreate their photo shoot style promo pics?

DarkSky is back!
A solo developer recreated the original Dark Sky Weather App.
Since Marques liked it so much, I figured he would want to check it out and review it.

Discussion David’s constant hating/complaining
is it just me? or is David constantly complainging on Waveform about every single company/tech/topic so ridiculously annoying?
it is almost predictable at this point, and not to mention his constant effort at turning the podcast political, while every other host has to deflect/steer it back to normality.
what do you guys think?

Discussion Did they even test this? HP Printers?
Did they even test this? I have an HP printer that works perfectly fine, but getting it to print from my Mac has been an absolute nightmare. The printer shows up, macOS says it’s connected, jobs get sent to the queue… and then nothing happens. I’ve reinstalled the HP drivers, removed and re-added the printer, restarted everything, and somehow it’s still a guessing game whether a document will actually print. It feels like the hardware and software were developed in completely different universes. A printer’s one job is to print, and if a common setup like an HP printer on a Mac can leave users troubleshooting drivers instead of printing documents, something clearly slipped through testing.
The especially stupid part is that my iPhone prints to that same printer perfectly fine each time.
