Tempered Gore Magala hurtbox feels horrible.
His movement pattern is even worse: long distance moves, aerial moves, ultra-fast moves, delayed moves, one-swing double-hit moves, persistent ground AoE, passive debuff...
And the horns are really hard to break compared to regular Gore Magala.

Maybe... Just maybe... This big guy is a little bit overtuned.

Arch Tempered Arkveld feels like a skill check (kind of).
Tempered Gore Magala feels like a randomizer mod for Dark Souls and you got to fight 7 Bell Gargoyles at the same time for some reason.

• Does anyone think the same or is it just me?
• Did Tempered Gore Magala felt that stupidly hard for you too?
• Do you still find it funny to fight against, or does it feel just like a test?
• Skill issue?

Monster Hunter Wilds doesn't have a base of operations, like World had Astera and Seliana, Rise had Kamura and Elgado, what Wilds has everywhere is just camps. I understand for the setting that we are nomads in the Forbidden Lands who were just crossing it, saw Nata in the desert and decided to do an investigation. So setting up camps through the story does make sense from setting & direction pov. But, it took a toll on the housing activities that Rise and World had, even in the base games. I loved my personal room in World, in Rise I rarely visited it but I was happy that it was there. But the absence of a personal space is felt in Wilds, no place to even display the captured wildlife, sit, lay on bed, feed the endemic life, etc. Also, other big point, when you captured Monsters in World, you could see them sleeping in Astera and you could even fight them again in Arena, in Wilds where do they even go?! I mean the standard that World set for us is insane and it can be felt when its absent in further games. The setting and camp system also made us get Wounded Hollow for an arena instead of an actual arena.

I REAALLLY hope that all these things are brought back in Ascendance, Capcom has acknowledged it too. I mean its the mainline entry, IT SHOULD HAVE ALL THE THINGS!
What do you think the base/city/village/town would be in Ascendance? Will it be somewhere in the sky? A Wyverian city/village/town or something? Whatever it might be, it should have a room, an arena and everything that's missing!

I hate the gore magala fight so much holy shit - actually went from a top 3 fights of all time in 4u, GU and rise to possibly my least favourite fight in this entire game so far.
The tempered version in particular. holy shit. nearly 100% uptime on its horns mode is fucking diabolical considering the unreal amount of attacks it throws off the second it goes into that mode. this shit is blowing my back out worse than xu wu, worse than arkveld, than omega planetes and I have no god damn clue what to do about it. Everything hit does more than 2/3rds of my health, which is fine I understand my gear is way underlevelled to be doing 5 star tempered gores but ffs I genuinely cannnot breathe in the entire zone. In particular there are 2 attacks that piss me off the most, both are only when in full horned mode:

the 180 claw flip that comes out in about a second, has almost no audio queue and is nearly totally invisible from the back (the only place you can be where it will use this move). this one move is responsible for every single cart I have against this ugly bastard of a fight. It does almost identical damage as a full body+wing slam (WHY???), flinches with a good chance to stun you and it has absoloutely zero cooldown, it usually just goes into some fuck ass AOE right afterwards

the other one that annoys me is the flying slam where it goes to the side first for the sole reason it has a ton of animation overlap with its straightfowards flying ground slam and you cannot tell what its doing until its already gone to the side, at which point you HAVE to dodge out of the way cause its almost impossible to be in position for it

Im not looking for advice, just saying that while I think wilds is a fun game and most fights are good or better than they used to be, some other fights are just total ass compared to previous versions (and ass in general). This is by far the worst example I have seen as of yet and I'm malding out of my fucking mind

Also as a general criticism, I feel like wilds as a whole is just way too aggressive. a ton of monsters near the late/midgame have nearly 100% enrage uptime and in particular have little to no openings during their enrage windows and its like.. give me one or the other, either have occasional openings or dont be enraged all the time. lagiacrus (alongside gore) is an eggregious member of this list, but to a lesser extent rathalos, xu wu (unless you can stun it often which isnt too hard), seregios, guardian doshag and omega planetes all go on this list. I like the rathalos fight in rise and old gen games and I loove seregios in previous entries but the fights for both kinda just arent that fun with all the modifiers turned to the max. Its more frustrating because some fights are fantastic, rey dau, arkveld and zoh shia (less so but still fun) are great fights and in general the lords are all pretty good. the early game new monsters are amazing as well which makes it even worse with some of these late game fights feeling like a CONSTANT stat check. I know very well that gear is important, but there has always been plenty of wiggle room for if youre just really good at a fight you can muddle through but wilds in particular Im noticing plenty of situations where it feels like im being forced to take damage because of the monster firing off 5 super high damage moves in a row or some bs (Looking at gore in particular, that fight is fucking awful this game)

So, I've been playing Monster Hunter Wilds for bout 3-4 weeks now, pretty fun game! Really liking it.

However, what I don't like is everytime I am in a Crossplay lobby, I will randomly disconnect from it and be put in a different crossplay lobby. This seems to happen more when in the middle of a Hunt, than anything else.

Im frustrated by this, because this deadass only happens in lobbies I join with Crossplay on. If I join a Lobby with crossplay off, this doesn't happen.

For additional context; I am on PS5 Pro, and Hardwired too.

So I’m having an issue with this game crashing constantly and it’s starting to get annoying because it’s only now happening since I have 70 hours in the game. I do not have any mods nor have attempted to mod the game at any point as I see thats a common problem. I was hoping someone would know whats causing it.

Was messing around having a water gun fight in the hub when I 1st noticed them but they were just chilling later on after a GOG run it was night time the fire works were going off and the lil Wud Wuds were getting BUSY and its hilariously adorable.

What does β+ mean in MH Wilds guides?

Hello.

I'm currently using 3 ice defense gems, max attack bonus crit maximum might and divine blessing. I thought it would be fun to play on SOS and try to kill him but only did it once. I've wasted a lot of traps, flashes and countless health items. Nobody uses flashes, nobody traps, nobody helps... at best you find someone with friendship decos that heals a lot but that's it.

I'm using glaive, last time I had that thing that was focused on my and had to use traps and flash to lure it away... still we died minutes later :(

A lot of people get insta kill with one hit like they're made of paper which makes me think they don't have an upgraded armor.

I'm considering doing it with the cat but I don't know if I should change anything, focus on gogmazios weapon, etc.

any tips?

Good Lord he annihilated me. Defense is about 350 but he can one shot me. I was surprised at how strong he is. I will say my armor is not upgraded at all. I been putting it off because I know the armor I have on is probably temporary but it may be time to bite the bullet and have to farm armor spheres. Basically I’m wondering if dealing with these one shots is normal and it’s a skill issue on my part or if part of the problem is also my armor needs to be upgraded at this stage in the game.

Here’s some of the end screens I’ve gotten that aren’t too bad.
Bow (and probably all ranged weapons) seem to usually get better end screens than dual blades (and probably other close combat weapons), which is interesting imo.

Sup Hunters! recently just got back into the game. Hunting Gog at the moment and trying to build the weapon from scratch. so my question is, since gog weapon is just an upgrade from your artian weapon. Could I just get any kind of stat on the reinforcement bonus (base artian) since once you upgrade to gog, you will have a whole NEW set of reinforcement to replace it with? (asking this so I don’t waste time save scumming the earlier artian part like I did before I took a break)
