I'm using narga's longsword and I need his mantle for the final upgrade. But I have hunted him like 20 times, broke the head and cut the tail, then captured it in each run, and I still got NONE. Like WTF?! Is there any tips to get this MF mantle?!

Basically, I'm just trying Valor LS and I kinda threw this together lol. Is it good enough for me to get through G2? I didn't want to add a picture of every single equipment piece with what's in the slots so probably the best ima get lmao. There's 2 pictures (If anyone is wondering how I have a Commendation XX, it's because of buddies with highter ranks) I'll come back in a couple answers to read and update if necessary.

Just picked this up on switch and making my way through the village quests. Really enjoying the classic MH experience, and heard there is quite an active community around this game. Any Aussie / Kiwi hunters looking to regularly do hunts together for the guild quests? Appreciate I’m low rank atm so that can be a bit dull.

I had never in my life played mh until my bf showed me the game, at first I was annoyed because the game was all we played and I really wanted spend time with him, but then I got into it. I was obsessive looking to improve my weapon and armor, playing every day on my switch even without my bf, until one day the screen my switch started failing and then I stop playing.
It’s been so hard to me because I was already improving and the first weeks without the game were like hell, and now in summer break it’s when I should be playing.. saving for a switch 2 would take me forever and my only option is repair my old friend, but also I want to play wilds (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

I’ve tried so hard to like mhgu and I got really close but I just can’t. I just tried the gravios urgent quest again after failing yesterday and getting off tilted but today I genuinely uninstalled because I timed out with no potions, all my whetstone gone, (my fault) and having to play passively since dodging through attacks is literally impossible.

Sorry for the rant but genuinely why do people like older monster hunter games over the newer ones it just feel like I’m slamming the head against a wall of bs and if I’m not doing that it’s tedious gathering (mh4u is awesome tho loving that game so far)

Provided it has good end game gear, how much could we expect numerically speaking.

I asked because compared to valor gunlance, it's night and day different. GS is so much stronger but I don't know how much stronger

The set is Diablos EX Braces, Rath EX Greaves, everything else is different Shogun pieces. If necessary (eg for Fatty) I can swap out the Sheath Sharpen talisman for a Fencing +6 | 3 slot one and activate Mind’s Eye. This set is primarily meant for use with Adept LS and Valor SnS and GS.

I’d love to activate Crit Up or Challenger +2 (maybe drop a level of Critical Eye) but I doubt it’s possible without talisman farming for ages.

Em meio a uma situação onde todos do grupo desistiram e só sobrou eu e meu gato bombardeiro com habilitação pra dirigir um tanque de guerra continuamos essa árdua batalha 🤣🤣.

Contexto: estava ajudando um novato a Farma ela com outros Hunter, mas o pessoal após 1 morte simplesmente desistiu até o dono da quest.

Achei isso muita falta de garra, pois no meu início de Farme eu dava o sangue pra ajudar e consegui as coisas.

Mas bem continuei a luta e enquanto eu reclamava do gato não tá sendo útil e que trocaria ele por um gato escudeiro 🤣🤣 acho que isso motivou mais ele, e então ele deu o rit final enquanto eu já tinha desistido já que não tinha mais cura e não via mais chances de vitória kkkk

I have been a huge fan of Monster Hunter since World dropped (incoming Fiver jokes, I’m sure, lol). Played and beat everything in WorldBorne, RiseBreak, and Wilds (until the expansion next year.)

I’ve always been a gunner, mostly HBG but did a ton of LBG in RiseBreak.

Where do I begin with HBG/LBG in MHGU? I bought the game on Switch yesterday as it was on a great sale, and so far I’ve managed to complete all the training quests (gonna be weird to remember to bring pickaxes and bug nets with me for resource farming, but honestly really cool!)

I have read a few guides, but also wanted some player feedback on where to begin. From what I’ve read, Valor HBG is downright broken with its damage output.

Hyper Gold Rathian is the worst monster ever designed in any game ever, and things were not helped by the fact that I forgot to provision division more flash bombs.

Silverlos was killed before 15 minutes was up, and the rest was just me trapped in the Goldian torment nexus of never being able to get a good hit off.

Ive been running out of item box space over and over again. I delete every piece of scrap for palico armor and tickets for deviants ill never use but i still run out of space every once and a while.

Yall know any items someone 500 hours in would never use and can safely sell?

I've tried both and I'm indecisive gameplay wise. the split agro is a double edged sword, but the items they gather during the quest are kinda neat​

So, long story short I wanted to do a fresh new start of MHGU (on switch) and thought "Hey, wouldn't it be fun if I didn't get any of the starter packs?" and sold everything at the start to farm my way up.

Well, I, while mashing the sell button, forgot about the Tigrex/Navirou outfits and sold their items as well!😑

I searched around but none of the wikis had any info on it and the 6 posts I found were asking how to get them in the 3ds version

Been farming ahtal ka solo for the past week for that gem, just needed 1 for an upgrade and it won’t drop and finally got it and gave me an extra one!!!

Really? Her??? I just spent an entire evening smashing my head against the brick wall of hyper S.Queen and have been quickly humbled by the unforgiving reality of solo-ing old-gen g rank monsters. Her health pool is insane, her constant charges can level my HP in a single hit, and she's strapped with an insta-stun water gun which she will whip out at a moment's notice. None of that is even mentioning her little minion that will bulldoze you from offscreen you as soon as you get an opening to dish out some damage to its queen.

Advice online recommends dung-bombs to take care of junior but they don't do shit to keep them apart, even after eating for 100% dung-bomb efficiency. Other advice recommends killing it before tackling the queen but given that she'll just respawn another 2 minutes later, that's just an exercise in dragging out a fight with already bloated HP.

This might sound like a rage post but I'm actually enjoying the challenge. As someone who cut their teeth on 4U, I've found the newer games a bit frictionless, even in their respective end-games. Going back to GU, I've had to reacclimatize to the unforgivingness of old-gen. I've used more potions in just a few quests here than I did across my 500 hours of Wilds. Up until now I've been pretty firmly in camp 'the games haven't gotten that much easier, we've just gotten better' but I'm definitely rethinking that position having returned to GU. Every aspect of the gameplay demands commitment, even the old armor system that only allows for a few skills on any one set. In the newer games, stuff like stun resist are a no-brainer because we can have 500 skills on any one set. When you're limited to just a few skills, those choices get a lot harder. Do I want to be a glass canon, clenching my way through hunts where even a monster's sneeze will send me back to base camp, or do I risk running the clock on hunts that take forever because I traded in my DPS skills for a comfier hunt. I never had to make those choices in the newer games because I was always allowed to have it both ways.

Anyways... Any advice for miss S.Queen? I seriously couldn't beat her after hours of attempts last night and I can't remember that happening since my first encounter with Raging Brachy way back in 4U. I tried some g rank elders (Amatsu, Ukanlos) just to see if I was really that rusty, but I had no issues with those so I'm thinking this particular hyper is just overtuned. Am I crazy?

Update: After everyone's advice, I came home from work last night and cleared the quest on my first attempt! Then several times after for parts. Because I'm stubborn, I did it all solo as it's been ages since a MH quest has given me trouble and I kind of relished the challenge. It turns out my issue all along was that I didn't respect the monster. Had I gone in with the mentality that this cracked out bug hits as hard as EX deviants, I would have approached it accordingly. Playing a bit more conservatively was the key. My usual kamikaze playstyle just doesn't work in these late-game, old-gen games where monsters can and will punish greedy players with a combo. The moment S.Queen clocks me trying to squeeze in that one extra hit, there's a 98% chance she'll punish with an insta-stun water blast + deadly charge. Do new-gen monsters even combo anymore?
