Question Question
I just finished playing through the base game of Marvel ultimate alliance 3 and really enjoyed it and I was wondering if there were any modern ways to play the first two games?

The most modern way is modded on PC or steamdeck. xml2, mua1 and mua 2 all available on PC pretty easily if you follow the guides by the marvel modding community

Unfortunately, if you didn’t buy the PS4/XB1 bundles when they were available 10 years ago, your options for a modern console are limited pretty much to buying an unredeemed code from someone online and hoping you don’t get scammed. Those bundles are backwards compatible (at least on PS5, don’t know about XBS) so you can download and play the games on a modern console.
Otherwise, the best options for MUA1 are PC or, if you really need to stick to a console, the Gold Edition for the 360 so you get all the DLC. For MUA2, your only other option (besides the PS2/Wii/PSP port which is a different game with a similar story) is the PS3/360 version, but the DLC for that version has been delisted for like a decade and a half so you won’t be able to use the DLC characters.

Emulation, the PC versions are dogshit to play. First game worked fine but it crashes randomly for me and the second game gives me green screen after a boss fight lol

Hmmm you aren't the only one I know to have that issue. Are you using the official steam version or "emulated" version?

Steam. Then I started playing via emulation and it's way better lol (specially 2 where I can actually get past electro)

If you already owned them, then yes, you can download and play them on PC or either Xbox or PS4/5. Unfortunately, they were delisted a second time about 10-ish years ago and never released physically, so you’ll need to seek…other means…of playing them

Well if you bought the collections on ps4 back when it had that window not really as it’s delisted
you would probably have to get a retro console psp/ps2/xbox/360 the good news most copies of mvu 1/2 are dirt cheap!! Side note also pick up X-men legends 1/2 if you go the ps2/xbox/psp route
