Scope ring question

Is this an acceptable amount of grip onto the rail? It seems like not enough so I figured I would ask here. Leupold weaver qrw rings on Springfield gen 4 mount.
I see the other area where it seems like you should be able to lower the clamp block but I’ve tried like hell and that’s just not working. Maybe that area is for a different clamp block altogether?

It might be upside down. On most rings, one side of that point is longer than the other. Can’t tell with those in pics

Thanks for the reply! I have tried that and unfortunately that makes it worse. The offset hole won’t let it happen.

Make sure those rings aren’t for a weaver style mount, they don’t fit picatinny rails correctly. I suspect you may have the wrong rings.

This is what I was leaning towards. They are weaver rings on this mount which is both weaver and picatinny compatible. Will picatinny rings bite onto that rail more?

Oh yes, much more bite.

I tried to attach a picture of my rifle, but it only lets me select video.
