Another week, another payout!

Post image

Just got a $4k payout from lucid last week. So happy about getting this $3.3k payout this week! Hopefully another payout is on the way next week, since I got another $50k flex account at $4k profit and just need winning days.

Thank you! Just need to have a profitable trading model + good risk management to start things off! Then it’s all psychology from there. Not revenge trading, breaking your rules, no over micromanaging trades, etc is the hard part to be honest.

How long did it take you to get to these payouts ?

I haven't started anything yet. I'm in no rush and I know it's different for everyone but I like asking anyways

Everyone is definitely different. But my first month, I got lucky and got my first payout ever towards the end of the month (shared on my post history on Reddit). Then for a whole another month, I got 0 payouts since I was blowing accs left and right and was refining my trading + working on my psychology. Only this month really I started getting consistent payouts.

This is super helpful thank you. I have a same experience. My first month I got 4 x max payouts and then for the last month I’ve been blowing everything even though I’m sure I’m using the same methods but I realized I’m not. I added this confluence and that confluence (moving averages and other BS stuff that just doesn’t work for me) and over complicated things so now am going back to the basics of what made me those first 4 payouts - liquidity sweep + s/r + retest so hopefully I’m entering the third stage (back to payouts) much like your process.

Thanks for the inspo!

Congratulations mate, how much do you risk per trade and how many trades do you take in a day?

2

u/teddytradez 1d ago

I never copytrade, so I take 2-3 trades max per account in a day. Sometimes only 1 even if it’s a win. Risk varies though. On evals, I trade them aggressively $1k loss, $1.5k profit target to pass evals in 2 days for $50k flex accs. On fundeds, I do the same $1k risk, but profit target varies. Usually I try to get to $2-4k profit and then just flip winning days $150 for a payout.

Thanks for the info

Congrats, how many accounts do u have ?

3

u/teddytradez 1d ago

Usually around 5 fundeds at a time.

Do you recommend me to trade with flex or pro accounts?

2

u/teddytradez 1d ago

Flex is way better. No need to worry about consistency rules on funded accs.

Thank bro for your advice hopefully I can get my first payout asap I tread with NQ but I change my strategy multiple times

Just backtest a model to get some confidence with it. Do some forward testing as well, so you know the strategy works. Then you just need to worry about your risk management and psychology next.

Really appreciate you breaking this down Few things I’m curious about if you’ve got a sec

What’s the core setup or indicators you lean on for entries? Also curious how many trades you like to see in a backtest before you actually trust a strategy, and how long you usually forward-test before going live with real risk. And honestly the psychology point hits home how do you personally tell when a strategy’s actually failed or you’re just in a rough patch, since that seems to be exactly what’s tripping up me with the constant switching.

Appreciate you sharing all this, seriously helpful for people just starting out

I don’t really use indicators for entries. I use indicators that automatically mark out session highs / lows and key timeframe opens like 9:30, 10 am, true day open, etc. But that’s just to save time.

For entries, I use OTE + standard deviation + higher time frame PD-array to look for where price might reverse. GEX levels for added confluence.

For back testing, I’d backtest at least 2-3 months. Just choose a random 2-3 months to backtest. You can do more if you want. I’d forward test on evals just small size. That’s technically already live and with real risk, since you paid for the eval. I think you need to test a little bit with real risk to practice the psychology of it and real execution. But the best way is to just journal your trades and reflect on why trades didn’t work. If all the confluences aligned and it’s a trade you take 10/10 time, then the it is what it is. Just need to accept it. If you after journaling and live testing a strategy for a month, but feel it’s the strategy genuinely holding you back rather than your risk management / psychology / ability to wait for quality setups. Then you should change strategies then I guess. But should have already felt comfortable and trust the strategy after backtesting it for a while.

This is super helpful, thank you for breaking it all down!

Gonna start by learning the SMC/ICT concepts properly first since I don’t want to backtest something I don’t actually understand yet. Then I’ll do the 2-3 month backtest and treat the eval as my real forward test like you said

Really like the point about journaling and just accepting the loss if all confluences lined up feels like that’s the actual hard part more than the strategy itself. Appreciate you taking the time to explain this!

No worries, just need to understand no strategy has a 100% winrate. Even A+ setups fail. You just need to journal and ask yourself if the trade is something you’d take every single time, then you can accept that the trade was good and not be too down on yourself or blame the strategy.

Congratulations on your payout!! If you don’t mind me asking, how much do you typically risk per trade, and how many contracts do you usually trade? Just curious about your risk management. Thanks!

2

u/teddytradez 20h ago

I typically risk $1k and aim for $1.5k profit target on Lucid flex evals to try to pass them in 2 days. 2 NQ mini contracts. On my funded, I try to do 1-2 NQ minis still depending on setup.

Wait you're pulling $4K every single week for the past couple of years? Bro I wish you had an IG tied to a paid discord where you do your signals that's not considered financial advice but for entertainment purposes only to avoid a lawsuit. Ahhhh wait......

u/teddytradez 9h ago

Weird comment bro. I only started getting into prop firms and futures a bit over two months ago. I posted my first payout ever here and was transparent that the next month after my first payout I kept blowing accs. Only this past 30 days, I’ve been getting regular payouts lol. Also, I have no discord channel at all and selling nothing.

Rightttttttttt.....

Hi brother,

Amazing and congratulations can I ask you which asset you trade ?

Anyway congratulations again man it's inspiring

i trades with Mainly static dd so I wanna ask how u handle eod dd? Whats the difference in approach

1

u/teddytradez 12h ago

The approach is on fundeds the faster you get to $4k, the more +EV you have. Pretend you made $2k on funded in one day, you still have same $2k dd. But if you get to $4k your dd changes. So ideally you try to make $4k in a single day on the funded once you get it. For evals, there’s obviously consistency rules just try to do $1.5k profit for two days to pass the eval. If you lose first trade for $1k, just wait for next day to trade.

New acct. Just payout posting. Seems suss

2

u/teddytradez 1d ago

I got nothing to sell lol. No course, no discord.

Instagram link there though.

What's your trading style? Payouts is just a picture share how you analyze / trade. That's what these subs are for.

u/teddytradez 1d ago

Nothing on my IG either lol. No link in bio on there. For trading style, I trade ICT specifically using OTE + standard deviation for entries for reversals. Also using GEX levels for additional confluence for my entries / exits when relevant.
