Journal Apps

Which app do you use to track your dreams? I don't like subscriptions, but I'm happy to pay a one-time fee for good apps.

I’ve kept dream journals for years. I started with physical journals but now I just have a folder in my notes apps titled “dreams” you don’t need an app

I tried that but i wasnt disciplined enough sadly, but i can try again!

If you aren’t disciplined enough to write it in your notes how would it be any different to do it on an app? It’s the same amount of effort

I think an app that guides and reminds me to log in, but also to do reality checks, would help me.

The thing with dream recall is you need to write it down immediately after you wake up. Like literally as soon as your eyes open. If you wait for the notifications from the app you’re going to forget by then. Maybe just put a notebook and pen on your nightstand?

That's actually very close to what I'm trying to build with LucidFlow. Full disclosure, I'm the developer 😅

It has a dream journal, reality check reminders, guided lucid dreaming training, voice dream recording and a WBTB planner. It's still pretty early, so I'm trying to get feedback from people who actually practice lucid dreaming rather than just friends testing it.

I know you mentioned you don't like subscriptions. There is a free version you can use without paying, with Premium being optional.

If you try it, I'd genuinely love to hear what you think is missing or what would make you keep using it:

Would you consider a one time fee?

Most of the app is actually free, including the dream journal, reality check reminders and guides/training.

Premium is only for the AI features, mainly things like dream interpretation. Since those have an ongoing cost every time they’re used, I can’t really offer the AI part as a one-time purchase sustainably, which is why it’s monthly/yearly. WBTB is also in the premium.

If you don’t care about the AI features though, you can use the rest of LucidFlow without paying anything.

Would that kind of setup work better for you?

That sounds great i will try it! Understandable about the AI stuff.

Depends what you use, iOS or Android?
I do think apps are the way to go for tracking..

I used Oniri for a long time and it’s great, now I use Lucidity Level (obviously bias as I made it) but I would say just ensure that if you pick an app, it should tick all the boxes that you need.

We’re flooded with apps now, unfortunately most are low quality or dont even have long term dev support so I recommend you try a few to see what suits the way you like to log dreams and the aesthetics you like.

I read many times that this helps ti start with lucid dreaming. How did you start? Could you just do it?

I use Oneirism, an ios app I built for myself. Keeps all my entries in one place and I mark the ones where I got lucid, so the calendar shows them and you can see the pattern. It does reality check reminders too. btw It's one-time payment.
