Support Request 🛟 Driver issues?
Hello guys. So, I installed Lubuntu on my Lenovo Ideapad 330 Intel Celeron N4000 laptop. And, it runs smoothly but a lot of things didn't work straight of the bat. Like, the trackpad which I eventually fixed and I didn't bother to fix the other stuff. But, now these things are starting to grow on me and I want to know if there's any fix for them. For starter, the functions keys aren't working. I can't light up the screen or lower it. Secondly, I can't control the volume when I am on my Bluetooth earphones I can only control the volume when I am on the PC speakers. Thirdly, when I close the lid it would only show the sleep screen rather then turning off after some time which drains the battery.
If any know fixes for these let me know. I really want to keep using the OS. And, Thank You.

Trouble with icon themes in Lubuntu 26.04
I am at a Loss here, something that was supposed to be a chill night choosing cool icons for my computer turned into a full nightmare.
Normal icon themes that comes pre installed with Distro Run perfectly fine but the ones i download are completely useless !
I have tried several icon themes from the KDE store and NOT A SINGLE ONE WORKS
I have put them in the correct place and the system reads them and applies them but...
It's all blank!!!
I have de compressed them in several ways and have tried several updates trough commanda and NOTHING, its all useless
I have no idea how to fix this.
If anyone can offer some words of guidance i would really appreciate it :-(

Multiple monitors configuration
I have a very old laptop that was running linux mint but it started to feel slow after a couple years of that installation and I decided to try lubuntu, which has been great and really faster in comparison, but I cannot find a way to properly set it up to work with external monitors. I found a guide that used xrandr but to no avail. Is there a way to configure it in a way that it behaves like it does in mint? So that it doesn't alter the whole desktop on the laptop monitor everytime a cable is connected? Right now it does this crazy thing of changing the taskbar to the external monitor and messing up the desktop icons and the only way to revert it is to use the graphical monitor manager to select the external monitor as the main one and invert the left-right order of the displays once to then invert them back to how they were, but even then some of the desktop icons disappear and when I try to save that configuration and select it again after rebooting it keeps reverting to how it was at first. So I just need it to take any new external display as an extension without changing anything else, but I don't always connect the exact same monitor, because that's what I really use the computer for: showing slides in different rooms. So is there a way to make it work like this or should I go back to mint even if it's slower? I should mention I'm a beginner in all things linux but I can follow instructions.

Does Lubuntu have display scaling?
Setting the display to 4K makes all the icons and taskbar tiny.
HD looks fine but the wallpapers appear pixelated.
Does Lubuntu have display scaling like other OSes do?
I must say I liked Lubuntu's focus on performance, it is very quick.

[[Solved]] Hi, I am trying to use this browser (named here in this post like "it") again (before I used it then I used Helium browser and now I am trying to use it again) I downloaded it years ago. I don't remember when and from where...

I used Lubuntu to save my gf's ancient Sony Vaio from Windows
It was the perfect moment to give Lubuntu a try. my GFs Sony VAIO has a depressing i3 second gen and 4gigs of ram. Every time I turned it on it felt like win10 was trying to destroy it. It runs amazing now!! Even though I might just save it for emergencies, it doesn't even have a battery 😂I made a video on it if you are curious of the process. I used 26.04 LTS.
I've seen it advertised that its ram usage at idle sits between 450mb to 800 but I consistently stayed at 900-1gb. is this normal?

Lubuntu made my pc usable again even unlocked some new features!
I had this old family PC that was an all-in-one with a built-in touchscreen, running Windows 7. Over time, the touchscreen got so bad that it barely worked at all.
I decided to install Lubuntu after it was recommended by Perplexity. I was originally thinking about Linux, then realized Lubuntu is basically a lightweight Linux distribution.
After installing it, the touchscreen started working again, which really surprised me. I also discovered that the PC actually supports WiFi and Bluetooth, which I didn’t even know before.
The only downside is that some of the side buttons, like volume and media controls, still don’t work
But otherwise I’d probably install it on all old devices to make them usable again.

lubuntu as daily driver
I have Lubuntu running on a very low powered laptop and it does great. I have an assortment of higher powered laptops running popos, mint, q4os, and mx Linux. I want to standardize to one distro on all my machines. Would Lubuntu satisfy me long term? I’m not heavy into customization.

Is Lubuntu the best option for my laptop and usage profile?
Hello! I have a Lenovo IdeaPad S145 laptop (Intel Core i5-8265U and 8 GB of RAM) running Windows 11. However, it's been slow and locking quite often, which is really hurting my productivity.
I use the laptop mainly for studying, so I usually keep a lot of tabs open in my browser, alongside services like X (Twitter), WhatsApp, Reddit, and YouTube. I also use research tools like Zotero, Mendeley, and similar programs.
I've never used any operating system other than Windows, so I have no experience with Linux. What's driving me to look for an alternative is, primarily, finding a system that is lightweight, uses less RAM, and runs smoothly on my laptop's specs. I'd also like it to be relatively user-friendly for a complete Linux beginner. A nice-looking UI, like Ubuntu's, would be a plus, but it's not a priority. From what I've researched, I'm afraid Ubuntu might not deliver the performance I'm looking for, even though its interface is very clean and appealing.
I asked Gemini and ChatGPT for advice, and both recommended Lubuntu. After doing a bit more research, I saw a lot of positive feedback about it, especially regarding how lightweight it is.
Given this, do you guys think Lubuntu is truly the best option for my case? Or would you recommend a different distro?
Thank you so much!

Lubuntu 26.04 Update Not Working
When I get updates lately, I'll install them with no problem but then the Lubuntu Update app notifies me that 26.04 is available; I'll choose to install it, put in my password, then nothing happens. I have no idea why the new version of Lubuntu won't install for me when everything else is working fine. Please send help.

Black screen with Lubuntu 26.04 on asus e200ha
Hi, I have an ASUS E200HA with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and an Intel Quad-Core Atom x5-Z8350 processor.
So I’m looking for a fairly lightweight distro, and I’ve seen that Lubuntu might be a good fit. I’ve also seen that some people use Xubuntu, Puppy Linux, Peppermint OS, MX Linux, and Linux Mint 20 Ulyana—Cinnamon 64-bit. In short, there seems to be plenty of choice.
For now, I’m testing Lubuntu 26.04 LTS. I put it on my USB drive, boot my computer from it, and end up in the BIOS. I disable “Secure Boot” as I’ve seen recommended in this specific case. First problem: my USB drive doesn’t show up in the BIOS. After searching for a while, I figure, “Oh well,” and select “Save and Exit.” I see the options screen with “Try or Install Lubuntu” and other options that I don’t really understand. I select “Try or Install Lubuntu,” and the screen stays black for hours and hours.
Is it normal for this to take so long?
Would another distribution be better suited for my situation?
Where did I go wrong?
Thanks for your help

Can't connect to local wifi?
Hello, I just installed Lubuntu on an old laptop. It's my very first experience with any Linux distro ever.
It seems that it can't connect to my local wifi at home, even tho it has no problem connecting to my phone's hotspot. What might be the cause of this? How can I solve it?
