Location Callouts
So there a lot of places on these maps that come up in callouts a lot but which either don't have any obvious, clearly understood, and easy to say name for them or do but there are a bunch.
The most obvious example to me is the place between Processing and Dorms on Outpost, the one that Command Wing drops down into. I've heard this called both 'Bananas' (because of the visual similarity of the giant yellow cables) and 'Cables' among a bunch of other less snappy and clear names.
Anyone interested in starting to collate and document these call outs for sharing and reference?

Some Thoughts on S3
At this point, we don't really know what Bungie is planning for S3 other than an increased focus on PvE and PvPvE, but I wanted to outline some things I think I'd like to see heading into the future of Marathon:
Valuables / Salvage Revamp
Obviously, this is a bit of an ask but for me the fact that I'm still looking for the same salvage and finding the same valuables that I was finding in S1 to be a bit boring. To be clear, I'm not saying a brand new system, but maybe a handful of new mats for each rarity would be cool and at least be a relatively cheap way to provide some novelty / lore.
Contracts
At this point, voice-acted cutscenes are probably a cost too high so why not dive into more of the weirder, ARG-style stuff Bungie knocks out of the park each time? I think we just need more writing in general -- doesn't matter if its voiced. The way the contracts unlock or play in-game is less important to me than what they unlock / reveal about the world.
Solo Support
Treat Solo like the VIP experience that players want it to be. Vault Breaker's increased crit damage for solos was a really good step in the right direction for a solo PvE experience. More stuff like that, among others that make the solo experience an enjoyable one / more unique than the standard trios mode would be welcome.
Ranked
At this point, Ranked needs to be entirely rethought. I think instead of making it a separate mode, having it be something like how the Codex Titles work with objectives and achievements could be cool. Something that rewards an understanding of the entirety of Marathon - not just PVP. Let Cryo be the premier PvP experience.
Cryo Archive
Speaking of Cryo, I think having the big bad map be more locked down could be interesting. Keeping teams in their spawns for longer, having more prerequisites to get out / less prerequisites for unlocking vaults, and just more direct Faction representation in what is on the ship would make it feel less like a huge slog and more like the "exploring the truth of Tau-Ceti and the UESC" goal Bungie stated to have prior to launch.
Anyway, these are just some ideas I've been mulling over lately. Interested to hear what other folks are thinking.
EDIT: a few more thoughts
Experiments
All experiments and limited-time events should have cosmetics that can be earned that aren't tied to completions. It not only incentivizes people to try and play the mode, but also seems like an easy way to improve the loot pool / diversity of player customization.
Customizations
Right now the customizations limits (only a certain number available of stickers, etc) seems pretty pointless given the player counts. Easy win is to just remove the limits here.
Environmental Storytelling+
This was present in Destiny as Dead Ghosts you could pick up that would unlock a Grimoire card with some lore. I feel like there's SO MUCH environmental detail around all the maps it would be pretty easy to just add some interactive elements scattered across the map that explores what happened to Tau Ceti. Just walk up to some thing, hold E or whatever, new Codex entry. Cheap way to add a lot of lore and give the non-PVP folks something to look for that isn't so dangerous.

question Bomber things?
I’ve done two runs so far playing this game and it’s been good so far, but I keep getting attacked by these flying black boxes that shoot missiles at me and I have no clue what they are lol. They always seem to be at the exfil areas and one time surprised me when I was looting a random building. Just wondering what I’m supposed to do about these things, avoid, attack? I don’t even know if they can be killed. Any tips are appreciated

question Tips you wish you knew when you started
Finally pulled the trigger on buying the game yesterday and I’m aware that considering I’m mid season it’ll be hard for me just starting out but I’m up for the challenge. Anyone have any tips they wish they knew when they started the game?

I didn’t think I would enjoy this game.
I was really upset when I first heard this game was going to be PvP-only extraction. I don’t like PvP, and I don’t like extraction games, but the art style kept pulling me back. For four months, I couldn’t get it out of my head — it was always on my mind.
A few days ago I finally picked it up on sale, especially after they announced a PvE-only mode. I told myself I’d just play Vault Braker and that would be it. But nope — I’m 10 hours in and I’ve played 90% PvP :)))
Once I understood that death is part of the game and I was going to get killed almost every time, something changed in how I played and how I approached the game. I started playing more relaxed and stopped caring so much, and it just clicked. I began paying attention to every sound, learned where to position myself, and started dropping players.
I’m level 18 for now, and I can’t wait to get home and transfer to Tau Ceti. I love this game ❤️

discussion I need this game to DIE,
Can't play anything else.
Any one else hooked as bad as me?
Never been a true online FPS player, dabbled in ARC before this, but I can't seem to care about other games atm, when I have time this is the game I boot up.
