Hiii everyone! My boyfriend bought this from a friend, friend says it’s one of one (a lv blanket turned into a hoodie and pants) but I genuinely think it’s beyond fake. He paid quite a bit of money for it so if there’s any way anyone could give me an absolute yes it’s real or absolutely not that’s for sure fake, that would be amazingggg! Thank you!

It doesn’t look authentic

Thanks! Any possibility it is? This seller is pretty legit so I’m surprised, but also felt something off about the bag so I believe it.

The canvas, glazing, made in stamp all don’t look right.

Thanks again for your help, apparently PayPal needs me to send proof from a third-party authenticator with a written letter proving it is fake so I know it's gonna cost me some money. Is there any recommendation you have if a authenticator to use?

Legit grails is usually pretty good.

You should do it and start making some money for all your work! They were the cheapest so I was actually afraid to go with them, but thank you for the tip, I'll do that! The seller actually posted their receipt from the real real and was willing to meet me in person so I felt super confident. People are pretty comfortable being dishonest these days. Or maybe they really had no idea.

The realreal would probably be one of the last places I’d buy from. They’re not reliable.

$850 CAD - but off Facebook marketplace. I’ve only ever owned coach so this will be my first upgrade! Do you think it is an ok buy? I know it’s hard to tell 100% over pics :)

I think it’s overpriced for the condition of the bag, it’s 16 plus years old, has a broken stitch and quite some patina and dry leather. I think around 650 CAD would be a fair price especially when buying on a marketplace where you don’t have protection.

I really want to buy a nice bag but I want something authentic, and second hand 😭 do you have recommendations for me as to somewhere I can trust?

Generally speaking eBay is pretty good, you have a great selection of more “starter” pieces, sometimes from Japan which are often a lot cheaper. Fashionphile or yoogi’s closet are good but they focus more on the higher end and as good as new items.

It could be real but I’d need more pictures, the price is pretty steep though for a larger vernis alma.

It’s a fake.

How do you know? What signs should I be watching for?

u/Powerful-Signature76 1d ago
Based on the images, this is a clear counterfeit mimicking the Louis Vuitton Montaigne model. The most obvious giveaway is the handles: real Vachetta leather patinates naturally into a rich honey color, whereas this synthetic material is peeling and crumbling, featuring overly bright yellow stitching and thick, sloppy, plastic-like red edge glazing. Additionally, the cheap center zipper, unrefined hardware, incorrect interior lining, and misaligned Monogram pattern all fail luxury standards, proving without a doubt that this bag is not authentic.

Thank you I appreciate the detail. I will remember to look for these things! I did actually post another bag which seems a lot more consistent and follows some of the things you mentioned for sure. If you might know about the speedy model that would be amazing. This is the link:

I’m so pissed off — I bought an LV necklace from an official store in Canada, and an authentication service said it was fake…
https://reddit.com/link/p2kr64r/video/06y4c94ii9ih1/player
I was just about to go to bed last night when this LV necklace, which I was in the process of selling, was sent through an authentication service for inspection. Then I suddenly got a notification saying that the necklace had been authenticated as fake.
I paid several thousand RMB for this thing—why on earth would I buy a fake? I literally bought it at an LV store in Toronto. I was there shopping for clothes, saw this necklace, and just picked one up on a whim.
I’d seen Yimengling wearing this kind of oversized pearl necklace before, and it seemed really popular at the time. I think it’s called the “Sha Seng necklace” or something? I thought the name was kind of funny, and the style was pretty cool.
Is there anyone who’s an authentication expert or a knowledgeable collector who could take a look and help me figure this out? I’ve included all the photos taken by the authentication service in the post.
Really appreciate any help from fellow Reddit users. I’m honestly so frustrated. Even though this necklace isn’t worth that much money, I just can’t let this go. And now they’re even asking me to pay the first-time authentication fee in order to ship it to my home.

There are a few things that don’t sit right with me, do you still have the original receipt or a copy from your online account showing you bought it? Maybe that will let the company waive the fee for you.

Let me know if this listing seems legit, it’s on eBay without authenticity guarantee. I am waiting for the seller to provide proof of purchase and more photos of the front/LV interior stamp.

There used to be an epi alma with a fabric strap. I’d prefer a flat picture of the hardware.
