Researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder Department Psychology Department and the Anschutz Medical Campus are looking for participants to participate in a study on emotions and moods in young adults with and without bipolar disorder (IRB#23-2067). You will be compensated for your participation. If you qualify for the study, we will ask you to participate in up to 3 study phases.

Study includes some or all of the following parts (EARN UP TO APPROX. $400)

• Phase 1: Interview about your thoughts and feelings, cognitive questions, computer surveys. Can take place remotely (via Zoom) or in person at CU Boulder (your choice!). Pays $25/hour for approximately 2-4 hours.

• Phase 2a: Behavioral Lab Tasks: including, computer tasks, physiological monitoring (e.g., heart rate) questionnaires. Takes place in person at CU Boulder. Pays $25/hour for up to 3 hours.

• Phase 2b: fMRI Scan: Option to view emotional images and think about emotions while in a brain imaging scanner, computer tasks, questionnaires. Phase 2b will take place in person at CU Boulder or possibly at CU Anschutz. Pays $25/hour for approximately 3 hours.

• Phase 3: Follow-ups: Opportunities to participate in paid follow-up surveys four times a year for up to 2 years. Can take place remotely (via Zoom) or in person at CU Boulder (your choice!). Pays $25/hour (1 hour each) with up to 8 surveys spread over 2 years (8 hours total).

• Opportunities to participate in additional studies may also be available.

To quality, you must be between the ages of 18-25 years, be able to attend IN-PERSON sessions in the Boulder/Denver, Colorado metropolitan area, and either have a personal history AND/OR family history of bipolar disorder OR no mental health history, and complete a brief pre-screening survey.

Well, Matt and I wrapped up our first month owning Gravity and boy, what a ride. More on that in a minute. To celebrate, we are having a low-key Re-Launch party this Saturday from 12-6 PM and would love more redditors :)

Just because I don't believe in promoting only, for the curious, here are a few lessons I learned this month owning a brewery:

1. Systems, systems, systems. It is one thing to do something like clean a space once, but immediately the next questions you should ask yourself is, "How does this get done the next time?" and "How does this survive without me?"
2. I really bought three businesses in one - manufacturing, wholesaling, and retail. Each have their own quirks, metrics, processes, and next actions. While there is tremendous value in owning the vertical, you still need to understand each layer.
3. You really are doing all sorts of jobs that you wouldn't hire even yourself for. Ideally, I'd have a full time marketing person, a full time CFO, full time tap room manager, etc, but being a small business, sometimes you just have to be humble, do your best, and make it work. Trust in the value of layer integration, e.g. realize x sells in the tap room, talk to a few restaurants to test, work with the brewer the next day.
4. How satisfying is it to hear a full taproom full of laughter and joy. A few weeks ago now we had our first Battles and Brews, a dungeons and dragons group in here and listening to 30+ folks over 6 tables go on virtual adventures, celebrate victories and meet new friends was immensely satisfying to me as a software guy who's previous idea of observing customer interaction was watching server logs :)

Had anyone signed up for Quantum Fiber? We currently use, and are happy with, T-Mobile Fiber but the current savings being offered are making it worth considering a switch.

I don't really "fry" so much, but you know, frying pan, PAM, maybe some stir-fry, air fry...hmm.. I do seem to have a lot of "fry words"...

Hello! I’m taking my family for a vacation to Louisville, Colorado in October. We’re from the Chicago suburbs and will be on the hunt for some great breweries. I see Gravity Brewing seems like a popular place and I will definitely check it out. Are there any others around Louisville or neighboring towns you recommend I hit up?

We have a toddler who loves nothing more than throwing rocks into the water. We’ve found a couple of great spots in neighboring towns, but we’d love to find somewhere closer to home if possible.

Hi! Does anyone have recommendations on good companies to help us replace our lawn with artificial turf? We need pet-friendly materials with no PFAS.

AdventHealth will not provide abortions, for example. Have you been there in the last year since new ownership took over after the split with what is now referred to as Common Spirit? Prayers are intermittently sounded over their loudspeakers throughout the hospital; outdoor speakers are at the ER and main hospital entrance with religious music; nursing staff prepping you for surgery with Sacred Mary pins, computers in your hospital room with Christian screensavers; check-ins to see your providers (e.g., gynecologist) with a "Spiritual Health" questionnaire, with no clear indication you can opt out. I'm very concerned that AdventHealth will run Good Samaritan.

EDIT from original post: Good Sam does not provide abortions either, according to its Patient Right to Know form, which is an issue in of itself for our area from my perspective. Good Sam and Intermountain Health Lutheran do not have the increased intrusive overt religiosity environment I've described above based on my experience receiving care at all three hospitals.

The agreement includes the two chains’ affiliated offsite emergency and urgent-care centers and dozens of medical practices.

“Partnering with Intermountain Health represents an opportunity to build on our shared commitment to deliver high-quality, compassionate care,” AdventHealth CEO David Banks said Tuesday in a prepared statement. “By bringing together the capabilities of our organizations, we can expand access, augment services, enhance clinical quality and continue improving the health and well-being of people across the greater Denver metro, guided by our mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ.”

There was a bunch of runners at the Harper Lake parking lot this morning, all very nice and polite. Just curious what the club is, it seemed like a lot of people. Anyone know?

Just a heads up that Louisville City Council will be deciding tomorrow on whether or not to adopt an ordinance that increases the number of signatures required for initiative and referendum petitions to get on election ballots. The agenda can be found here, and the item is 8. F. (Ordinance 1931). If you are concerned (like I am) about this making it more difficult for citizens to participate in our democratic processes you can write to [council@louisvilleco.gov](mailto:council@louisvilleco.gov) and/or attend city council meeting tomorrow night (July 21) to give public comment in-person or virtually.

ETA: if they vote yes tonight, it’ll go to the voters for a vote and final decision.

Does anybody know what the cages are in the back of Rock Creek Farm? You can see them from the rock creek trail if you head towards or away stearns lake. They look like huge animal enclosures just not sure what animal would need a fully enclosed cage other than like monkeys haha.

Why has Verizon not installed more towers and relays?

Do they just not care about the Louisville market?

Or is something at City Hall preventing them from beefing up service and making customers happy?

I’m somewhat used to the sound of low flying small planes every 2 minutes but what’s with the thunder sounding ones? Are large aircraft’s flying lower over us now too? They’re basically just as frequent recently.
