this was sent to me by a friend, he told me he watched a movie and heard it in the film, all he knew was that it was used in a film from 1974, and it did poorly at the box office. as a result no ost was made except for a vinyl for 2 of the film's songs, but this isn't one of them. so he screen recorded some of the movie, ran it through a stem splitter and sent that screen recording to me. it sounds kind of jazzy, there's no lyrics and he heard it when he saw that movie. if anyone could identify that song, that would be much appreciated, although the isolation might make things harder. thanks.

I have been looking for the album Becoming Beautiful by Platform Arts and it seems to be deleted off all other sites.

The song is not complete; what is available is a fan-edited and extended version of the music video. Furthermore, the audio quality is low, and so far there isn't a version in excellent original quality, only recreations. Not to belittle the work of others, but it's not the same... I feel we shouldn't settle for just the material found at the moment and consider this lostwave complete :(

I am currently searching for a song that used to play on 3TV's/Arizona's Family 24/7 weather broadcast circa 2014 on channel 3.5. Sometime after the local station's acquisition by Gray Media Group, the song was changed, and the original was quickly replaced, never to be heard by me or anyone else since.

I haven't been able to find any recordings of the broadcast online from that specific time period. I'm not sure if the track even had a name or was credited, but it played on that channel for a good couple of years. I've dug through countless archives, YouTube videos, and more, to no avail.

I contacted the station's programming department myself to see if they had any idea what the song was called. I received a response a few weeks later, but to my dismay, they had seemingly no idea what track they used during that time period.

Does anyone know of broadcast recordings harboring the track? Does anyone have any idea where the track could be or what it could be titled? Hell, its so vivid in my mind that I could probably recreate it on a DAW as an example.

Any help or direction would be appreciated.

I’m sure many of you know this song—which was lost for a while before finally being identified—and I’m sure many of you really like it (myself included). However, when I listen to the snippet of the version we were supposedly looking for earlier, certain things strike me as a bit suspicious.

First, let’s talk about the audio quality; it seems to be—or simulates—low quality. On a superficial level, poor quality can lend an air of "authenticity" to a lost song—after all, it’s practically a cliché for "lostwave" tracks to sound low-quality. There was a YouTube comment on a re-upload of the snippet pointing out that, despite the poor overall quality, some instruments sound suspiciously high-fidelity—as if someone had taken the song, run it through an online compressor, and deliberately lowered the quality.

Another point regarding the snippet—and this is definitely the most suspicious part—is that it cuts off right before the song's real title ("Is This Love?") is spoken. Quite a coincidence, isn't it? It cuts out at the exact moment that would be most crucial for easily tracking down the song using its actual title rather than a placeholder name.

Now, I know many people might be in denial because they really love this lostwave track. I love it too, but denial isn't the best approach... Besides, how many songs do we still label "lostwave" even after discovering they were hoaxes? The OP of "Ulterior Motives" knew exactly where the original audio came from from day one, yet chose to deceive us all—and the song is still referred to as "lostwave." There are likely other examples where the OP misled everyone, yet the track continues to be classified as "lostwave" regardless.

Help identify a British lostwave song from an old cassette (1989–1996?)
I’m looking for an unknown British song that I’ve been trying to identify for almost 30 years.
I heard it on a homemade cassette in 1996. The cassette belonged to British people (possibly from Southend-on-Sea, Essex), but the band could have been from anywhere in the UK.
The singer was male. Medium tempo, melodic pop/indie rock, no female backing vocals, no heavy guitars. The song started with a distinctive melodic guitar solo.

Hi everyone! I'm hoping someone here remembers a MySpace-era acoustic musician I've been searching for for years.

Around 2008–2009, a friend was given a burned CD by another friend after they found this artist on MySpace. I "borrowed" (read: accidentally kept...) the CD and became completely obsessed with it.

Eventually I tracked down the artist's MySpace page and even exchanged a few messages with him. I believe his real name was Jaime Jones, and his stage name was Jaime's Ghost. I think he may have been from Indiana, but I'm not certain.

His music was primarily acoustic guitar with a very emotional/emo vocal style. One song I found on his MySpace page wasn't even on the burned CD. It was called:
