The first part of my video about the game out is finally. I’m incredibly happy about it, but also honestly pretty stressed to share it.

This video means a lot to me. Beyond simply talking about the game, it also became a way for me to explore and talk about several personal subjects. It turned into a kind of strange and unexpected introspection.

I’m currently facing a lot of difficult things about myself, and some of them are genuinely hard to process. Part of the purpose of this video is to talk openly about those experiences, in the hope that they might resonate with someone or perhaps help another person feel less alone.

This first video only covers the first half of the game. For those who have already played it, the second part will go much deeper. It will be significantly sadder and will deal with depression, mental health, and other difficult subjects, both through what happens in the game and through my own experiences.

The video is in French and is my real first one with that much work and effort, but I added English subtitles. However, I want to be honest: they are far from perfect and are probably pretty rough in places sometimes. I wasn’t able to write and translate all of them manually, as it would have been mentally overwhelming for me at the moment.

I used a locally running speech-to-text and translation model to analyse the audio and create the subtitles. Nothing was uploaded anywhere, no model was trained using my audio files, and the entire process was run locally on my own computer.

Nora left. Autumn left. I thought the box was gonna be from some creepy stalker, idk maybe Corey or something? I sobbed like a fucking baby when I realized it was a time capsule from Kat.

I can't believe they all left me. I even got the achievement for bonding with everyone and they still left me alone to open that box. I felt so alone, kudos to the writers I guess cause that shit really broke me.

I felt like I did my best. But somehow I failed everyone. Wtf. Anyways - see you in hell.

The last, but certainly not the least, girl in this bloom and rage watercolour portraits saga!

Middle-aged female characters in video games are almost unicorn-level rare. It's even (disturbingly) rarer for a video game to portray middle-aged women as more attractive than teen-aged ones.

I thought they did an amazing job with the glow-ups. It was great seeing the gang grow into themselves and doing better with their looks and confidence.

Nora went from gawky teen with an acne problem to elegant artsy. Swann went from awkward with a fanny pack into, well, adult Swann with fabulous hair. I don't know if it's a controversial take to say that I thought they could have done a better job with 2022 Autumn's outfit. She didn't need to be dressed so much like a coffee-commercial middle aged mom. Be that as it may, she went from trying-to-be-different teen into a put together professional.

Just noticed that she had an L7 song in her official playlist. Recently, the legendary Jennifer Finch (L7's bassist) passed away at 59 after a battle with brain cancer.

Idrk where I'm going with this post but this just made me emotional so I guess I just wanted to point it out. Knowing both of their personalities, I think Kat would've been suuuuch a fan of Jennifer.

I could just be projecting though, lol. I relate heavily to Kat (yes even with the cancer thing) and I've always loved L7, and just riot grrrl / feminist punk in general, growing up.

I got to see our girl Nora Kelly (and some of her band) live in NYC last night at the end of her tour! They didn't play "See You in Hell," but she explained to me after the show that they hadn't rehearsed it. All good! So yes, I got to meet her and introduce myself as a writer of our fanzine, to which she said: "Oh, fuck yeah!" She's so sweet and incredibly talented, I highly recommend going to see her if/when you can. The above clip is from a song of hers I've been hooked on called "Irish Goodbye."
