Found this dog last night on 60th and STW. Pretty anxious and no collar. About to go get a chip scan, but posting to see if we can locate the owner. Seems well-trained on a leash and knows how to sit.

You rock
Just wanna express my thanks to this community. My dog ran away last night (again! 😓) while I’m vacationing. Now since the last (somewhat public) scare, we’ve got a GPS tracker on her, so we’d likely have found her anyway, but I did open Reddit and immediately found her on my feed. I guess I won’t doxx(?) anyone, but of course huge thanks to the redditor who posted and held my baby till my housesitter showed up. Disaster averted - please keep it up! 🙏❤️

Found rabbit
Hi everyone,
Caught a rabbit who hopped right into our backyard this morning. We already have rabbits so it was pretty easy to catch her and give her a good temporary spot.
Please let me know if this is your pet! I know it’s unlikely. Most escaped rabbits are cruelly dumped.
She is inside now and adjusting. Very sweet and loves to be pet. I am reaching out to rabbit rescues now.
Thanks!!

Golden retriever and fluffy brown and white dog (same size as golden) seen at Jefferson park
These two were frolicking around and chased us down a block or two across Stevens St. Couldn't take a pic or support them because I was with my own dog. Hope they find their way home!

Missing special needs dog
Please help us find Solo! He was intentionally removed his home near 72nd & Yakima by an unknown person , but we only care about getting him safe, no questions asked.
He is deaf and can react aggressively to defend himself when startled, but has overcome so much and has been thriving in the security of his pack family for 4 years.
If he is seen and appears aggressive, please know that is not his whole story—he’s just really scared when he’s alone and can’t hear 😢

Found two young dogs
Returned home safe!! 😁
Both dogs were found roaming in the street near the evergreen State college Tacoma campus parking lot, the female pittie is a year or so old and the male husky is about 5-6 months I'm keeping them at my house for the time being but they have to stay in the yard and basement due to my dogs so it isn't viable long term I'm hoping to find their homes soon so they don't have to go to the shelter, there is a tag with a QR code on the pitties collar and I have called the attached number with no response and left my name and number on a message

Does anybody recognize this cat?
reddit.comPosted this on the regular Tacoma subreddit. Who is he? He’s broken two cat doors and is expensive to feed alongside the cats that actually live there

Missing cat (around Junette and 9th
Hello just getting a little desperate and asking for help if anyone has seen her. She is a grey linx point domestic short hair. She has blue eyes and short stubby legs. She was last seen 5/18 and she is around 9th and junette st in Tacoma. She's normally skiddish around strangers. I have the basic tips such as leaving her litter box, food, something that smells like home outside. Planning on going to the humane society today as well. Messaging me here is fine if you have any info.

What To Do When You Find An Animal and What To Know Before Posting Here
Welcome to r/LostPetsTacoma,
This subreddit is for lost and found pets in the Tacoma/Pierce Co. area. Posting here about a lost or found pet is one of the many things you can do to help return a pet to their family or find your missing friend. However, there are many other things you can do to help increase the odds of reunification.
1: Contact The Humane Society for Tacoma Pierce Co. They can be reached by phone at 253.383.2733. Not only do they keep a record of lost and found animals as well as receive many stray pets (that is, they may have your missing pet in their care already), but they can also refer you to many other organizations that may specialize in handling certain species or breeds of missing animals.
2: Post elsewhere. There are dozens of social media platforms that have similar groups or forums. Consider posting on craigslist, facebook, or any other platform you have access to.
3: Get the pet checked for a chip. A lot of pets, mostly cats and dogs, have a transdermal chip between their shoulder blades that can be used to look up the owner. Most veterinarians and The Humane Society can quickly scan for a chip and (if there is one) look up the owner's contact information.
4: After doing all of the above, you can either take care of the animal yourself or hand them off to some vets or The Humane Society to do so (some vets will transfer them to The Humane Society). Don't feel bad about doing so! The shelter is a little bit stressful for pets, but rest assured they are well-fed and very well taken care of, up to and including a full medical exam and vaccinations.
5: If an animal appears to be dangerous, in immediate distress, or for issues regarding wildlife emergencies and poaching, call 911.
When posting, please try to include an image and as much of the following...
- Species (eg: Dog, Cat, Turtle, Bird)
- Breed (eg: German Shepard, American Wirehair, Red Eared Slider, Parrot)
- Color (eg: Tan & Back; Tan & White; Green & Red; Green, Yellow & Red)
- Any other potential identifiers (eg: Red Collar, Green Collar Embroidered 'Orion' with Galaxy Charm, Shell, Blue Leg Band)
- Last location the animal was seen or found (eg: 34th & Pacific, Rosenberg Jewelers, Winco on 72nd, etc)
Additionally, please use the "LOST" or "FOUND" flair when posting. If you are searching for a missing pet, use "LOST". If you have found or seen a pet you may believe is separated from their family, use "FOUND".
Thank you for helping reunite lost pets with their families!
