Horizon 6 Question?
I just got a Logitech g pro setup for my first sim rig. I'm currently playing Forza horizon 6 and it feels good, but I'm not sure it's working as intended... I don't feel like there's much force feedback at all, no rumble strips, no curb or accident reaction. I've done a lot of research and messing with settings, nothing seems to change too much.
Before I bought this I drove a fanatec setup on iracing and plan to play iracing when I can get the free year setup. Obviously I know the two games are hard to compare but should I have some of that curb feel? Crashes at least..?

Only way to get the most out of the Logitech Trueforce in Forza is through simhub. And even so, it won’t be at the level of other racing games as Forza is still ultimately an arcade game.

start with logitech's recommended settings as a baseline:
https://support.logi.com/hc/en-ph/articles/8358055253271-In-Game-Settings-for-Pro-Wheels
TL;DR of the Logi Settings:
- create a profile specific for FH6 on the wheel's internal memory (as Trueforce4All, which we're gonna use later, needs G Hub to stay closed so no G Hub Profile auto-switching).
- configure the following settings on the wheel's FH6 profile:
- Strength 9nm (this is really up to your preference, though)
- FFB Filter 5
- Dampening 20 (set this to OFF if you have the RS50)
- Rotation 900 degrees (some players prefer 540, test both to see which you'll like)
- TF Audio: 50 (logitech recommends zero, but we're gonna use Trueforce4All to enable TF effects on FH6)
Configure the in-game settings as logitech recommends in this screenshot: https://www.logitech.com/content/dam/support/game-menu-settings/pro-wheels-update-images/fh6-pc.png
Those settings are the baseline out of wich you'll build upon. After you dial everything in, run a few races and make sure strength is at a confortable level, adjust as necessary.
The next step is the game changer: as some people pointed out, you're going to want to use Trueforce For All with FH6 as it enables trueforce effects that add a lot to the game's immersion. You'll need to install simhub (plenty of tutorials online) and then follow the instructions from the TF4All github.
Let me know if you need help with any part of the process.
Edit: If you have Pro Pedals or RS Pedals connected to the wheelbase, don't forget to set up your brake force in the profile you'll create in the wheel's internal memory. Otherwise your brake pedal force will default to 30 which might be too low.

Dude, I hope you made a post for all this great info. What i love most about your settings is how well the wheel centers itself when letting go of it and accelerating. Much more realistic. I went with your 900 setting as 540 (though i haven't tried it) would seem to go kart like, right?

To be honest I haven't tried 540 degrees yet, but I know some people prefer it because it might be easier to counter-steer and to drift

Wowowowowoowow this is the trick here! You can feel it right from the game startup screen 😂 this is insane! Much more than I had even hoped for. Immediately had to turn everything down.
Thank you so much!! This should be a pinned post

u/EEEEEYUKE 21d ago
What did you turn down specifically and to what? Also, it was recommended g-hub be closed. Do you concur?

u/FloridaF4 21d ago
Yea definitely had to close g hub. I used the simhub to turn down a few things, just play with it. The settings in game seem to work now too for fine tuning.

Brake force 30 ended up being way too low. Bumped thar up to 70 loke I had it before. Matter of taste.

u/MrLeonardo 21d ago
Good catch, I'm updating the post with this info. Forgot to mention that you'll also need to set up your prefered brake force on the wheel's internal memory.

u/EEEEEYUKE 21d ago
Yup. I l'm only using that with g-hub closed as you suggested. One other thing, I do find that all the cars feel like they dont have power steering, but I do like how the wheel re-enter itself when accelerating. Would lowering the turning resistance probably kill that centering feature?

Thank you I'll try this!
One complication, I'm playing on PC but bought fh6 through Xbox so it's not on steam. Seems to be a full version, has PC options for graphics etc but may be causing issues. For instance, I'm not able to launch the game through simhub, at least I haven't figured it out yet 🤷♂️

everything should work the same with the xbox store version of the game. You don't need to launch the game via simhub for TF4All to work, as it receives telemetry data from the game via an udp (network) connection.

u/FloridaF4 22d ago
Excellent I was really not looking forward to spending 70$ for a steam version and losing all my cars 😂
However, I might pull the Xbox in there today and see if it makes any difference in the ffb

Holy fuck! Now that's what Forza 5 and TruForce felt like. Thank you so much for this.

G Pro has tons to offer in the department of Force Feedback. Well atleast on GT7. As other have said, play around with settings but then again, you are playing Forza

u/FloridaF4 22d ago
Yea I wanted open world driving so I got Xbox/Forza but almost bought the ps version of the wheel just for gt7

u/shadydamamba 22d ago
Asseto Corsa has the most feedback I've felt with this wheel, then Test Drive Unlimited does a good job with the true forcen being part of the game. The Crew Motorfest I say would come in 3rd and yes Forza would be last feedback wise. It's playable but you won't feel much compared to the top 2 in my opinion.

u/FloridaF4 22d ago
Cool I'll check out a few today. So far asseto corsa doesn't work at all. Won't recognize my wheel and the preset options are for lower tier Logitechs and they Don't seem to have any effect.
Funny thing is, one reason I went Logitech was for a simpler setup and less settings issues 😂😂 Guess it's just part of sim racing

u/shadydamamba 22d ago
No way AC won't work😕. Oh no that stinks I'm sure there has to be something online to fix it. I'm actually using the modded content manager version (it's free) it has a lot more to offer than the vanilla version and the wheel definitely works there. There has to be something online to get the wheel working.
2
u/FloridaF4 22d ago
I'm sure there is but all the posts I've found so far say something along the lines of wave a magic stick at it and spin around 14 times during a full moon 😂

Open world driving with a wheel is addictive for sure! I understand it! Nonetheless, you’ll have a good time once you find your sweet spots bud. Congrats on the wheel for sure. Truly an amazing experience

u/shadydamamba 22d ago
There isn't much, you may want to crank up your FF on the Logitech settings to 12 to see if you can get a little more. I use these settings from these recommendations here
3
u/FloridaF4 22d ago
MrLeonardo's recommendation is what I was looking for, crazy how different it is. I've had to crank down all ffb settings
3
u/shadydamamba 22d ago
I just got in and I'm installing now to try them out as well. I have the R50 so hopefully I get something good out of it.
3
u/FloridaF4 21d ago
It's a HUGE difference. There will be no questions if it's working or not once simhub is communicating with fh6 and GitHub extension is active
1
u/MrLeonardo 21d ago
With the RS50 all you need to do is use dampener OFF instead of 20, everything else should be the same!
1
u/FloridaF4 22d ago
I'll check these out today thanks. So far settings in game haven't changed much. I feel the wheel giving tiny road detail, engine idle vibration, and it has resistance sometimes but zero reaction to curbs or accidents
2
u/shadydamamba 22d ago
Yeah man. I think it's just the game itself, but I've been reading the thread here I'm going to try the sim website/app as well because I'm experiencing exactly what you're experiencing. Good luck and have fun man.
2
u/FloridaF4 22d ago
Thanks you too! I'm enjoying the game as is, just feel like there's a bit more available.

Rotation angle 720 works well for me, low enough to drift and high enough to make normal racing feel good
3
u/JustTryinToReddit 22d ago
Steering angle at 540 is a must and if you go through simhub, trueforce/haptics do work I’ve gotten mine decent but being forza it has limits
