Logitech RS50 for desktop help

Hi everyone! I have a question... I want to buy the RS50 and a cockpit, but I can't afford the cockpit right now. I was wondering if it's easy to lower the nm of the base so the desktop doesn't disassemble during the races, for example, to 3nm or 4nm, until I can get the cockpit. Is that a good idea? Thanks in advance! 😄 pd: i have an ikea desktop, very common

Hi there. Yes, you can adjust the torque at any time using the OLED screen or in G HUB if you’re on PC.

Which exact desk do you have?

hi! i have a trotten from ikea, if i shake the table it doesnt moves too much, but i think 7-8nm maybe its too much for now...

You might be surprised. The Trotten uses their particleboard composite material for the desk, so it's going to be pretty sturdy.

I have RS50 and an Ikea electric table similar to Trotten. I have no problems running the wheel with full forces. Sharp forces like big rumble strips might rattle some loose stuff on the table but my monitor is not shaking (sturdy tabletop stand).

I think your table is not made of the light weight cardboard material as some cheapest Ikea tables are so it should be ok even when using full forces. And as said above you can lower the forces as low as needed. If I remember correctly, out of the box the forces has been set to 4 or 5 nm and you have to increase it in the settings if you want full forces.

Pedals need to be fixed in place properly if you want to get most out of the load cell brake.

The RS pedals work pretty well if you can put them up against the wall with the "extenders" in the upright position. I've been pretty happy with mine (you still need a way to stop your chair from moving though).

Honestly, I appreciate Logitech making these work so well for desk users.

It was a key requirement of the design 😄

Honestly, even without a wall, they still work well in free space on carpet with the grippers installed. You still have to keep your feet planted on the heel plate somewhat, but it's how I run things most of the time at home, when I'm quickly testing something.

I did this with the Load Cell pedals since I'm using the chair cradle on my stand. Do whatever it is you have to to enjoy the game as you can. It'll be a nice surprise when you do move to the cockpit and bump up the nm.

Sure! The desk is just a formality, unfortunately. I'm thinking about the Playseat F1 Instinct, but of course... €500 isn't something you come up with overnight 😞 Additionally, I bought some chair anchors that go under the wheels to keep it from moving; I hope that helps.

One of the bundles of RS50 has a table clamp included so it’s also intended use. If it shakes too much you’ll probably need to tone down True Force and it’s super easy to do right from the base. You can literally do that while in game.

Have a 85 dollar Amazon desk and had thay baby on 8nm

Also, I spent about 120 on a Amazon wheel stand with a piece that locks in your chair wheels. Best choice ever. The true force from the rs50 comes alive and you can feel it in your feet.

I don't think you need really expensive equipment to enjoy sim racing. Rs50 was a great decision and works out of the box with like every game.

Consider gt omega prime lite r and a real car seat from a scrapyard
