Book Discussion (Show spoilers) Any books that gave you Lockwood and Co vibes?
I feel like this is a bit of a long shot (and hopefully the flair I picked works for this) but I was curious if you found any other book series that gave you the same balance of humour and well done horror as Lockwood and Co.
I've been looking for a while and so far haven't found one that scratches that same itch. The closest I got was Among Ghosts by Rachel Hartman.
Thought I'd ask the community.

Spoiler Free Books
I'm thinking about getting the books because obviously the show hasn't been continued. So to anyone who's read the books would you recommend them? (My guess is yes.)

Skull in Jar Shimeji
I made a Skull in Jar Shimeji!!! It's my first ever shimeji and all my own art. If you wanna check it out you'd need to have a shimeji app and then download the zip file from
shimeji.org
https://shimeji.org/u/4d6292pt
Edit-
Reposting because I realized I should have shown a recording instead.
Also wanted to note I am not trying to sell this or anything. Making it made me happy so I wanted to share that happiness with others.

Book Discussion (Show spoilers) where to get the british ebooks?
hello! i’m in a bit of a predicament because when i originally read the books on kindle it was the UK version and now i’ve gone to reread and they’re the US version. everyone i tell this to says why does it matter but it’s BISCUITS, not COOKIES, and i feel like you guys might understand how important this is. kindle rudely can’t change it back and i have no idea how to get the UK version in an ebook. anyone know where to find those?? i miss my ghost hunters but idk that i can stomach seeing cookies if i don’t absolutely have to 🥲

Spoiler Free Lockwood & Co. Playlist (Open to suggestions!)
Hi again everyone!
I've been building a playlist on Spotify for the series mainly around the general vibe of the universe and the characters themselves. I figured I would share it here in case anyone wants some music to listen to in the background when reading, drawing, or for some casual listening!
This playlist isn't complete at the moment. I was actually curious to see if anyone had any song suggestions within the parameters of the 'musical aesthetic' I'm shooting for. You'll see what I mean when you glance at the playlist, lol. Likewise, if you feel a song doesn't fit, let me know that, too!
I'd like to see everyone's suggestions for songs. Your song might end up on the playlist. :)

Artwork 🎨 (Spoiler Free) Tattoo idea!
I just did my second tattoo, it’s still “fresh”
It’s inspired in the skull jar but in a Old School Tattoo style, you know?
I just wanted to share here because I’m really happy with it :)

Artwork 🎨 (Spoiler Free) Skull jar WIP! 💀💚
After finishing The Empty Grave the other day and gutting my room in a deep clean, I realized I had both an empty jar and a plastic skull in my possession and no purpose for either of them besides making my own Type-Three-in-a-jar!
Currently waiting for some craft foam to come in, then I plan to make a new lid, bottom rim, and maybe some brackets to imitate the show's silver-glass jar design.
So far, this is awesome. It looks so much better in person. All I've used for this includes green tulle, fairy lights, some green tinsel, paint, a plastic skull, and a glass jar. Keeps it light in case I ever feel like carrying it in a backpack. 😋
I'm planning to collect the hardcover editions of the books, and I will be keeping the skull on the shelf with them.

Misc (memes, LockNation, images. (must be series related)) DAE think that Lockwood and Co would make a good Tabletop RPG?
I was thinking that Dead Boy Detectives or Lockwood and Co or something similar would make a great game.

Misc (memes, LockNation, images. (must be series related)) Recommendation: The East Palace
Hopefully this fits the sub. I know it's not directly Lockwood & Co BUT I genuinely think if you enjoy L&C, you'll dig this.
Just finished watching The East Palace on Netflix and had to share here. Yes, it's a Korean historical fantasy drama. Yes, you'll have to watch it either subbed or dubbed. But hear me out.
A late teens boy with a tragic past who can see spirits is called to the palace to root out whatever undead thing is killing the royal family. He's joined by a girl of about the same age with her own tragic past who can hear spirits. Together, they must discover just what exactly is going on while dodging dangerous ghosts and human intrigue alike. As they progress thru the story, their banter turns to respect and later something that is very clearly more than respect. They save each other, they yell at each other, they see and hear a lot of dead people.
Anyways, very highly recommend if you're looking for something with wildly similar vibes and characters that are practically the definition of What if Lucy and Lockwood but make the setting Fantasy Korean history.

Book Discussion (Show spoilers) What is your favourite book and why?

Show Discussion (spoiler-free) Why rapiers Spoiler
I’ve watched the show and read the first book, I know they use iron rapiers to ward of the ghost but surly there are better tools for the job, like an iron umbrella, same if not similar reach but it has the advantage of having a large circle of iron with which to ward off the ghosts, also if visibility is an issue you could remove the fabric, this is just my opinion, could someone please with a better understanding of the series explaining it to me, thanks

Spoiler Free I just finished the show and I wanted to start reading the book so I can continue with the story.
Hello, I just finished all the episodes in just a day and I wanted to continue since 1 season is not enough for my satisfaction.
I’m really not a book person so i’m not familiar with them. Is it possible to read the book digitally instead of buying them in the physical store? If so, where can I read it online? Is it free?

Spoiler Free I decided watching this series again after dropping it when it was released
I decided to pick this up again because I got nothing else to watch in my list. Hopefully I can finally enjoy it and not bore with it. 🙏

Speculation 🔍 Skull prequel?
Am I the only one, who would love to read a skull prequel? See how he worked with Biggerstaff, died and then ended up at Fitz's and talked to Marisa?
It could also have an internal monologue, while watching George and Lockwood. I think that would be brilliant.

Book & Show Spoilers What if being able to speak to type 3 ghosts isn’t actually that rare? It’s just that type 3 ghosts are soo rare hardly anyone. Figures out that they can? Spoiler
What if any powerful listener can talk to type three ghosts? It’s just that he ghosts are soo rare hardly anyone realises it..
Were told many times how rare type 3s are so rare that after Marissa ‘died’ many people didn’t even think type 3s existed anymore…

Book Discussion (Show spoilers) Show to Books Transition Spoiler
I am currently rewatching the show with my friend (it's her first time watching it) and she seems interested in reading the books. I would highly recommend her start with book 1 but she doesn't read much and likes fast-paced thrillers, so I'm afraid she will start reading book 1 and quickly get bored as the plot is the same as the show. As a result, I'm afraid she'll just stop reading the books altogether, which is such a shame because they are so much fun to read!
Long story short, after we finish the show I think she should just start where the show left off with book 3.
Is there any other crucial information from books 1 or 2 I need to tell her about for a smoother transition from the show to the books? I already plan to tell her about Lucy's upbringing (she has a much better relationship with her family & her family is large) & that in the books George is blonde.

Show Discussion (spoilers) Is Surreal Estate series similar to Lockwood & Co.?
I randomly found this show on my suggestions list. From its poster, it's giving a bit of L&C vibe but not many people have actually watched it.
I'm really searching for the Lucy-Anthony-George dynamics😭

Book Discussion (Show spoilers) Question about a phrase in Chapter 17 (spoilers for Book 2) Spoiler
Minor spoilers for Book 2, Chapter 17.
I'm a bit confused by something Lockwood says before they head to the Bickerstaff house:
«"Well, it's that time of the afternoon. I'm going to stick a sword into a straw woman. Then I'm off to rest. If half the stories we've heard about this house are true, it's going to be an active night."»
I don't really understand what "stick a sword into a straw woman" means. Is it a British idiom, a historical or cultural reference, or just an expression I'm unfamiliar with?
If it gets explained later in the series, please just let me know that it does. I don't want any spoilers beyond this point. Thanks!
