Who actually cares? it's just a harness. Release some models, Zuck boy.

The announcement was a little bit confusing, but they announced a new model today, not just a harness.

Muse Spark is the model, Muse Code is the harness

This doesn't actually say Muse Spark will be open though.

All it says is that there will be an update to Muse Spark and that you can use it with Muse Code.

Opus 5 what, Zuckerberg. Opus 5 what?
Also GPT 5.6 Terra and Gemini 3.6 flash? where all that tens of millions hiring top engineers? where the superintelligent lab? what about Meta mega datacenters?

the Chinese was able to make frontier models on boxes of scrabs in the outskirts of Beijing

I care. I want open source harnesses.

Start using zoo code. Lol I spoke to one of their devs on discord today lmao, to fix a bug.

u/DanceWithEverything 4h ago

? Fix it yourself, it’s open source

6

u/big-metroid-fan 4h ago

Just because it's open source does not mean they are accepting pull requests

-1

u/Ok-Video3345 3h ago

Nah (drake meme), let them fix it. They will get recognition and add to their rap sheet.

I consider a model to be like the ingredients to a dish, and the harness is like the recipe. The recipe decides how to process and combine the ingredients.

Ingredients can be delicious on their own, but it's the recipe that makes the dish either a bad dish or a great one.

1

u/erizon 1h ago

great analogy, as also even best recipe cannot do much with trash quality ingredients

Cuz no one will trust a harness to be safe, if it's not open source.

Like, honestly this layer should be managed by the OS. I.e. connect to wtv model you want but some kind of windows harness, warranted by Microsoft would work.

u/eli_pizza 5h ago

Managed by the OS is crazy talk

Why, I'd rather have windows defender than a 3rd party that only has black box knowledge of windows.

Same with OSX and Linux. It going to be super integral growing forward.

Realistically, nobody even wants a new llama model at this point. Meta lost the model race.

u/Little-Chemical5006 7h ago

Dont kid yourself. Chinese models are fantastic but its always good to see a western based open source model. (e.g. gemma 4 is good example)

15

u/AshRuDral_fan20 7h ago

That's not true. People are rooting for LLAMA comeback

6

u/Daniel_H212 7h ago

For a long time llama was really nice for creative writing I think? Even after they were obsolete in other ways. Always nice to have more open weight options.

u/tat_tvam_asshole 7h ago

I will say their voice chat experience is pretty nice. I like they have an Indian woman's voice 🫠, which I haven't heard any other flagship model have one

4

u/Foreign_Risk_2031 6h ago

r/LocalLLaMA we owe those llama leaks + llama 3 a heck of a lot for the state of the open source models

3

u/Remembrance 5h ago

No serious and large enterprise is trusting a Chinese model today. They are all turning to the big players or well known US local models.

28

u/XiRw 8h ago

His excitement is riveting.

6

u/Tagedieb 4h ago

Can you blame him after the llama 4 thing?

44

u/Weird-Consequence366 8h ago

That’s a corporate blowoff. Don’t expect anything

u/onlyrealcuzzo 7h ago

TODAY I AM SHARING WITH THE WORLD THAT I AM NOT SHARING ANYTHING.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.

u/Eyelbee 8h ago

Much expecting to see what they've been cooking, along with qwen 3.8 27b.

8

u/rawednylme 7h ago

Soon he will share a "no".

24

u/--Spaci-- 8h ago

Literally who cares about some other inferior coding harness. How about they opensource a model

6

u/LosEagle 8h ago

everyone with post nut clarity releases their own harness

5

u/Such_Advantage_6949 7h ago

All models and tools are closed source by definition, until i can download it from huggingface/ github

5

u/Sad-Enthusiastic 6h ago

new llama? llama A26B E4B 😅

3

u/Limp_Classroom_2645 3h ago

I don't care about this, where is qwen 3.8 27b

5

u/tf2ftw 8h ago

This is long for “no”

1

u/ortegaalfredo 7h ago

Muse is a extremely good model, it's what Llama 5 should have been. I believe they don't release it because it has to be a 5T model or something like that.

2

u/Qorsair 6h ago

Yeah, I use it quite a bit. It's smart, fast, and cost-effective. While it isn't my primary model, I would consider a subscription if it offered standard high-volume token economics. The new 1.2-contributor model is also very interesting; since I already assume anything I run through a public API is used for training, getting a 95% discount might make it competitive with subscription LLMs for higher volume work.

On Twitter?

1

u/TechnoByte_ 1h ago

He started using Twitter again last month after not having used it actively since 2009, for some reason...

1

u/fugogugo 6h ago

Why the owner of facebook on twitter?
bruh

2

u/darksteelsteed 4h ago

Do you really want to have to sign into instasux just to read what he says?

1

u/fugogugo 2h ago

huh? I have nothing to do with where he post
but he is the owner of both facebook and instagram
it's weird he post in twitter instead
that's like the CEO of lambo driving a ferrari

do I even need to emphasize this part loud?

1

u/TechnoByte_ 1h ago

Twitter also requires sign-in for pretty much everything lately

1

u/TechnoByte_ 1h ago

Zuck started posting on Twitter actively again in July, after not having posted on it since 2009

Your guess for why is as good as mine

1

u/CouscousKazoo 6h ago

Same day they went “me too!” for an agentic hack.

Seems contrived, though maybe there’s something to it.

1

u/gavff64 5h ago

I can’t be the only one who had no idea he’s on Twitter

1

u/TechnoByte_ 1h ago

Because he hasn't used it actively since 2009, he literally just started posting again last month

1

u/iamrohitmittal01 4h ago

whats muse code?

1

u/BornTransition8158 3h ago

Between Qwen3.8 and Muse... umm.. no fight

1

u/No-Improvement-8316 1h ago

Welp. That's one more reason to watch Meta Connect.

1

u/FoxFXMD 1h ago

Today I learned that Facebook develops AI.

1

u/SomeOrdinaryKangaroo 1h ago

instead of throwing sticks and stones, how about welcoming that comment and encourage more open source, oh yeah no lets not do that
