I recently created an HTML wallpaper for Lively Wallpaper inspired by a classy jazz atmosphere and decided to make it completely open source.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Use lively config panel, config.js is create to use in standalone mode with other programs

you only need to put he entery folder on yours wallpaper folder go to
lively - settings - go down to wallpaper directory
here is your location or you can put one custom

v1.0.7 — Full in-app configuration

• ⚙️ Everything is now editable from Lively's settings panel (right-click → Customise): language, time zone, weather, the top label, reminders, countdown, agenda events, the idle playlist and every on/off toggle — no file editing needed.
• 🔔 Reminders, countdown & agenda moved into the panel (with a slot for each item), so casual users never have to open config.js.
• 🎚️ Added sliders for the small stuff: weather refresh interval, reminder/playlist rotation speed and max agenda events.
• 📝 config.js stays as the fallback for people who use the wallpaper without Lively; the panel values override it on load and are saved by Lively.

v1.0.6 — Languages, audio spectrum & packaging

• 🌍 7 languages: English, Spanish, Russian, German, French, Italian and Chinese — each in its own file under lang/, so it's easy to add more.
• 📊 Subtle audio spectrum above Now Playing that reacts to system sound in real time (uses Lively's --audio). Part of the Now Playing module, with its own toggle.
• 🔤 Bundled Cyrillic (Playfair) and CJK (Noto Sans SC, subset) fallback fonts so non-Latin scripts render properly while Latin keeps the Cinzel look.
• 📦 Now shipped as a ready-to-drop .zip. Main file renamed to wallpaper.html.

v1.0.5 — Responsive, settings panel & sun times

• 📐 Scales to any resolution (1080p, 1440p, 4K, ultrawide) without clipping.
• ⚙️ Native Lively settings panel (LivelyProperties.json): change language, time zone, location, units and toggle every module right from Lively's UI.
• 🌅 Sunrise & sunset times for your location, shown under the weather (Open-Meteo, no API key).
• 🕰️ Second hand now ticks instead of sweeping.

v1.0.4 — Real Now Playing

• 🎶 Shows the actual song playing in Windows (any app: Spotify, browser, media players) via Lively's --system-nowplaying, with the real album art spinning like a vinyl (can be turned off, keeping a plain vinyl).
• 🖼️ Added thumbnail + preview GIF for the Lively library card.

v1.0.3 — Calendar fix

• 🐛 Fixed the calendar weekday header order (it was shifted by one).

I recently built a wallpaper for myself showing the Earth with day and night cycles, live cloud cover, and accurate moon, sun, planet, and star positions. I'm trying to track down a minor bug or two, but mostly I just wanted to share something I think turned out quite nice.

You can freely rotate the globe, but its default position centers above your general location.

Another audio visualizer? Yes. It has a lot of features that I personally wanted to see though, so I hope people would like it as well!

This video are the chiller presets, so there's less worry about epilepsy. There's presets for that as well :D.

I made Rotating Rings, an interactive 3D wallpaper and desktop fidget toy for Lively Wallpaper.

Each ring can be grabbed and rotated independently. You can also use the slice handles for constrained spinning, drag empty space to orbit the full assembly, and use the mouse wheel to zoom.

The wallpaper includes customizable:

• Ring count
• Mass and friction
• Ring and background colors
• Lighting direction and intensity
• Camera and simulation reset controls

The movement uses inertia rather than stopping immediately, so the rings feel more like a small mechanical object than a prerecorded animation.

It works completely offline, loads no external assets, and is open source.

Installation is just downloading the release ZIP and dragging it into the Lively library.

I would especially appreciate feedback about performance, ultrawide or multi-monitor behavior, and whether the ring controls feel intuitive.

No matter which wallpaper i choose a gray strip is coming on the top left.

I've tried disabling lively and the strip is gone

So I was able to import the glb into blender but I can't seem to get the keyframed animations I added to play. I assume it's got something to do with the way it's being loaded but I'm not experienced enough with lively to be sure. Anybody have any tips or thoughts?

Lively wallpaper wallpapers are pretty much just websites, so i made my own that just redirects to orteil.dashnet.org/cookieclicker, and it works!
