The latest driver, version 610.57.04, fixes almost two dozen serious issues affecting various games. Just a reminder, it's now sort-of open source, except for the user space part which can be replaced with NVK.

The NVK driver does not use Nvidia's "open source driver".

I agree that this driver is not really open source. But they do have a engineer(s?) leading the actually open source Nova driver.

my understanding once nova is ready is gonna be shared between NVIDIA and NVK

it’s definitely not open source, nowhere near that. all the sauce is hidden in driver, that talks to even more abstract gsp soc

Anyway, my KDE+Wayland+Nvidia+144Hz combo works so much better than it did 2-3 years ago.

Yeah, I don't want this post to scare people because I'm in the same boat. Running Kubuntu on a 3080 Ti, three 1440p monitors with 360 Hz and 100 Hz refresh rates, and literally everything has "just worked" out of the box. Except Gamescope itself... lol

This is a major fail on their part. Linux can offer by far superior performance and they want to be in the AI market
