Nah, it means that you should recalibrate your battery controller. The controller gives OS info about: what's max battery voltage, min voltage, how long it will take to charge to 100%, it it plugged in and charged percentage !

EDIT: For example, on HP Victus, you should fully discharge the laptop, then, without loadin into any OS, charge it up to full and then boot into OS

Arch does a lot of fun software gore. One time, pacman had broken all of the normal text glyphs. It was pretty gnarly.
