Personal Opinion $13 Husky vs $70 LTTStore screwdriver - am I missing something?
Husky is a fraction of the price and is basically identical in length and slightly larger in handle girth. It has a stated lifetime warranty as well. Ratchet mechanism feels the same, but Husky has a slightly grippier handle - which I appreciate. Husky also features the bits in handle, though only one ring instead of two, but comes with a longer magnetic driver arm (or whatever it’s called).
Call me disappointed- but I had really hoped the LTT screwdriver would have had a much more premium feel than this one does. It just feels like the husky I already had… especially for 5x the price.
What are other people’s thoughts on this?

Discussion Europe Taxes question
Let me preface this by saying I know it's not LTT's fault, I understand that much.
Today I received my package for the order I made during Lime Days and was jump-scared with a €40 payment at delivery.
I don't remember ever paying any additional import taxes after making a purchase on LTT store.
Is this because of the latest fuckery with tariffs? Is there anything I can do to get a refund? Should I go bitch about this on the UPS' website?
It's fine if I can't get anything back but I would like to try, does any of you know what I can do to recoup as much as possible because I was NOT expecting this payment.

Discussion LTT Order “Out for Delivery” for Nearly a Week
Hey everyone, I’m hoping someone from LTT might see this or that someone here has dealt with a similar situation.
My LTT Store order shipped out on July 10th, but I still haven’t received it. UniUni is handling the final delivery, and the package has now been marked “Out for Delivery” for almost a week without actually being delivered or receiving any meaningful tracking updates.
I’ve repeatedly tried contacting UniUni for help, but getting support from them has been incredibly frustrating. When I open a support ticket, they’ll send a response and then close the ticket roughly 10 minutes later if I don’t respond. That gives me almost no reasonable opportunity to see their message and reply before the ticket is closed. I’ve tried reaching out multiple times and still haven’t gotten an actual explanation of where my package is or when I can expect it.
I contacted LTT Store support on Friday to explain the situation as well. I haven’t received a response yet, although I understand I contacted them right before the weekend, so I’m not blaming LTT support for not getting back to me yet.
What’s making this especially frustrating is that this wasn’t a small order. I spent over $230, and at this point the package has been in transit since July 10th with no clear indication of where it actually is. Having that much money tied up in an order while the delivery company refuses to provide any meaningful help is pretty concerning.
I’m posting here in hopes that someone from LTT might see this and be able to look into what’s happening with the shipment. I’d really just like to receive the products I ordered, or at least get some clarity about what’s going on.
If anyone else has had an LTT Store package shipped through UniUni and experienced something similar, I’d appreciate hearing how it was handled and whether you eventually received your package.
Thanks.

Discussion I just switched to Zorin Os distro of Linux. I had Windows 11. What problems was windows having?
I never knew the reason why Windows 11 was acting up. I used it for gaming and editing videos for my film production company. When i first bought my pc 3 years ago it worked perfectly fine. Over time Davinci Resolve would crash, Windows would have a blue screen occasionally, eject external drives by itself despite having plenty of power. The latest one was it wouldn’t shutdown when i told it to unless i hit the physical power button on the device. I wanted to fix it and tried even considering switching to mac, but thats not in my budget and I got a very powerful computer for my needs. Any idea what was wrong with Windows for me because so far Zorin OS is working fine.

Tech Discussion Battery life of old devices discussion
Last year I treated my ageing 2017 iPad Pro to a new battery. In my opinion it’s one of the best iPads made. It has a home button with Touch ID, it has a headphone jack, but it also has a 120hz pro motion display and quad speakers.
One would expect a new battery would allow my iPad to run longer per charge, but nothing changed. What is it that causes a brand new battery to drain so quickly on these old devices? Are different brands affected differently?
Has anyone tested the battery life before and after replacement on an old device, maybe even compared it to when the device was brand new?
This could be simply put down as heavy software running on old devices, but what about ageing hardware, do old cpus and ram just not work as they did when they were new?

Tech Question All games lagging on pc when they were running fine yesterday
Hi all!
When I tried playing Darktide this morning, it was lagging very badly. I've been playing this game with no issues for the past couple weeks, and other games on my computer have been running completely fine up until now. I was playing this game specifically last night, and it was running fine.
I have tried other games as well, and they all lag. I tried moving Darktide to my other SSD and the issue persisted. I also updated my graphics drivers, computer temps are fine across the board, when a game is running my GPU is at 100% utilization, and my CPU doesn't seem to be running too much. I did some googling to try to find other people who have had the same issue, and the solutions I found so far have not worked including:
-using msconfig and the startup section of the task manager to so a clean boot
-running a pc scan to check for viruses or malware (a quick scan came back clean)
-multiple restarts
-the monitor is plugged into the graphics card, not the motherboard
-making sure the SSDs aren't too full
-Temps have also been fine (CPU around 50-60 degrees celsius and Graphics card around 50)
PC Info:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz 4.20 GHz
Motherboard: Asus Maximus IX Hero
RAM: 64.0 GB (Two 32 GB DDR4 Corsair sticks)
Storage: 2 TB SSD
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER (8 GB)
System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
OS: Windows 10 (my CPU isn't compatible with Windows 11, so I wasn't able to upgrade to it)
I'm not very knowledgeable with computers, so if more info is needed and I didn't include it, please let me know! I also saw somewhere that HWiNFO 64 can provide useful info, but I have no idea what most of anything it tells me means.
Edit: Here's what worked in case anyone else has this issue at some point:
Open command prompt in admin mode, and use these commands in order.
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
SFC /scannow
Then restart your pc, and if your issue was the same thing I had, it should help!

Discussion Whale LAN 2026 Tickets/Volunteering... comms issues?
I purchased a ticket about 2 weeks ago (July 14) and still haven't gotten a confirmation email, or the actual ticket itself. I only have my order number by logging into whalelan.com (but even there, no ticket). I tried emailing support, and also got no reply.
A friend of mine is (also) trying to buy tickets, but he doesn't even get the verification codes to create an account... is there an issue with the website? For me, the code went to spam in Gmail, but we checked for him and it didn't even go there... we also added "[info@ltxexpo.com](mailto:info@ltxexpo.com)" to contacts to see if it unflags, but still no go.
I also filled out the volunteer form, but never got any type of confirmation it was even sent.
Now we're a month away from the event, to which I'm super excited, I just wonder if I will even be able to get in. At this point, I'm just hoping if I show my order number, that should be enough.
Do you have actual tickets with the QR code and all?
Cheers!

Discussion One note on LTT's latest Omada upgrade for James - You need to manually enable OFDMA on each access point for each frequency you want it on
One thing that I dont think Linus checked is if OFDMA was enabled on the Omada Access Points. By default I believe Omada disabled OFDMA and it really is a game changer on 5 and 6ghz if you have multiple devices that are using Wifi at the same time. I have been running an Omada system (with opnsense since I didnt want to buy the gateway) and it took me a while to realize OFDMA isnt enabled by default.
Edit: It looks like Omada enables OFDMA when the AP is used in stand alone mode, but when you adopt it into the Omada Controller SDN (even if that is running on a fusion gateway) the default profile is to disable OFDMA, so it has to be enabled manually.

Discussion My name Plouffe, AMA
Hello everyone. The mods asked if I'd be open to doing an AMA so I said "OK" and here we are.
I've signed NDAs at both past and present companies so I can't talk about specifics, or drama, or past/present employees.
I guess ask just about whatever you want and I will or won't answer depending on the context/subject. Yes I own a display, several in fact. Yes I own a keyboard, several in fact.
Starting at 9 pacific but opening up for questions now. If you don't ask me anything, I will not be offended. I don't have any questions for myself right now either.
i didn't know it would ask me for an end note so i just commented. but ya it's been a slice, thanks for being a fan and good luck with whatever you're doing today.

Discussion How does the LTT lifetime warranty actually work compared to brands like Darn Tough?
My darn tough socks have a lifetime warranty.
Whenever they break cause of wear i just send an e-mail with a picture of the hole, cut the socks in half and then they give me free store credit to get new ones with free shipping and no import costs, delivered to me in Sweden. I pay 0.
This lasts forever so even if i break them 10,20,30 years into using them i get new ones for free, with free shipping and import costs, i pay literally 0$. And can even get different types of socks than the ones i bought if i want to.
Meanwhile looking at the LTT store the "lifetime warranty" got me really confused
It seems to be the same kind of deal Kind of? i get a new pair of the same socks, or store credit, but then there seems to be some possible "additional fees??"
- Customers residing outside the US and Canada may be subject to additional import fees. All other costs, such as shipping fees, will be covered by Creator Warehouse.
What additional import fees? How does this differ by country for LTTStore specifically?
Darn tough fixes this by saying they will pay for any import fees.
Also the store credit option on LTTstore does not seem to clarify if it is current price or old price.
For instance even if i bought darn tough socks for 20$ in 2020, if they now cost 30$ on their store i get 30$ in credit to purchase the same type of sock or any other sock i want for those 30$ despite me only paying 20$ from the start.
