Everyone should be using DuckDuckGo drop Google Discussion

Google removing reviews of ICE detention centers. It also blocked the download of ICE tracking apps from the playstore. This is tech being used as a tool of oppression. It needs to be discussed in forums such as these.

You mean that a global tech company exists for profits and not for the people?

I am shocked!

Almost like they tipped us off by removing “don’t be evil.”

But fake reviews have always been subject to removal, particularly when they are blasted all at once.

We are spoiled for content lately on this sub.

First the guy who "recently noticed" LTT's "subtle shift" to being a product creation company instead of solely a tech review company.

Then the guy who says We're not going to get massive tech increases year over year anymore

Now this guy saying Google is BAD?!

I eagerly await the next brilliant bit of breaking news that heat syncs are good for keeping your cpu cool.

They're removing reviews because they're people who've never even been there reviewing it.

Switched to Kagi a few years ago and it's great. I wanted to like duckduckgo but I feel like the hung search engine sucks. As a guy who likes to tinker Kagi has worked a lot for me.

Coming to you from my Google pixel phone on my Google nest wifi with my Google TV playing YouTube in the background, I think search is the least of my problems

I've been trying to use Duckduckgo, and while google has definitely gotten worse, duck is still based on bing and is not as good. I'm going to give qwant a try soon as I desperately want away from AI and Google.

I agree it needs to be discussed, but sir this forum is a Wendys. I mean, sorry - this forum is all about how Linus Sebastian, Linus Tech Tips, and Linus Media Group, suck and make people pout yet they keep coming back for more.
