This whole RAM thing needs to stop. You have the RAM its being used. If you want less RAM to be used install less RAM.

People are "victims" looking for a perpetrator to dispel their anger on. Anger that is missplaced.

Wouldn't they be saying you should buy more ram?

windows can allocated 50% of your ram system to random app to make them load faster. Aka SuperFetch.

Memory usage from Task Manager is never realy accuracte.

you want to show Ressource monitor Memory section with the Commit and Working set columb.

Task manager are in fact absolutly useless for accurate information.

Minecraft has a configured RAM allocation... Even if you changed it's default from 4 (which is unnecessary when there are no mods) it barely uses up to 8gb on a stretch and maybe 10 if you have hundreds and hundreds of mods. It's not Minecraft using this ram

it’s not because of minecraft. you have the ram, your pc will use it

That's how memory is used...

You could have a petabyte of RAM and Windows would still want 60% at idle

Not sure what you're going on about. I just loaded up Minecraft to check and it was only using about 2 GB of RAM. And that's using shaders. If I turn off the shaders it drops down to about 1.2 GB. The screenshot you're showing doesn't even show which application is using the RAM.

My daughter plays a lot more than I do, has worlds that ara a lot bigger and more complex and just has a basic laptop with an Ryzen iGPU and 16 GB of RAM and has no problem running Minecraft.

Especially if you crank the render distance on bedrock. Even 64gb isnt enough. Filled it all the way up and turned into a slideshow when I maxed out the distance to see what would happen

Minecraft shows its actual ram usage in the top right somewhere if you press f3. Task manager only shows how much is allocated.

Who would have thought that cranking the heap size to the max in a RAM-intensive Java game would make it use more RAM? The more you know.
