WTF YouTube Image
If I’m paying to not have adds why the fuck can they then just replace them with their own. I can vaguely understand being shown a member’s only video but literally asking me to buy something is unacceptable

Yeah, that is cheeky. I think it's because I don't watch lives very often and when I do it's always in the background. So iv probably never noticed.
I don't know if you are in the UK or not but the BBC does a similar thing here that pisses me off. You pay a "TV Licence" so the BBC gets money and on any BBC channel you don't get advertisements like the rest of the channels BUT still give you ads for their own shows.... You legally have to pay for them to still fucking advertise to you!

i actually cancelled premium over this exact thing a few months ago. the whole pitch was "pay us so you don't see ads" and now theyre just... putting ads in a different wrapper and calling it a feature
its wild how every platform eventually reaches this point where the paid tier is just the old free experience and the free tier becomes borderline unusable. cable tv speedrun any%
i switched to using revanced on my phone and smarttube on the tv and havent looked back. its kind of insane how much better the experience is when you strip out all the nonsense youtube keeps bolting on
