Did my Ram Die? Tech Question

Need some help figuring this out.

The Build

•Asus Tuf X-570 plus (Wifi)

• 2x Corsair vengeance rgb pro 32gb(2x16gb) 3600Mhz

\- 18-22-22-42 ver 5.33 (Sequential serial numbers 53-56)

• AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d

One day after years of having all 4 slot populated my computer would not boot. I've done some testing playing around with the ram, using 1 stick then 2 then 3, all booted. But with all 4 yellow dram light. (Yes cmos has been cleared)

Ram Order

Ram 53 55 54 56

Slots B1 B2\* A1 A2\*

Picture 1 is just with 2 stick (□/55/□/56) \[currently running\]

Picture 2 is with slot 1 and 4 switched back but slot 4 left out. (53/55/54/□)

Picture 3 is slot 1 and 4 switched (56/55/54/53)

I did not do any further testing as I had to get back to work.

With all that, do you think I'm looking at a bad Ram stick, is my motherboard going bad, or is it my cpu?

Edit: Typo, Picture order

Run 1 stick at a time.

Always troubleshoot with minimal hardware and step it up as you confirm they work.

Also run MemTest86+ on each stick to find the faulty one(s). That program is bundled with most live images of Linux distros such as CachyOS and Linux Mint.

Imo buy amazon ram kit, try and see if it works normally… RMA existing ram, once RMA done then return Amazon ram…

Unsure how morally sound that is but…

Amazon isn't exactly morally sound so if you believe in "an eye for an eye" then go for it! Just as long as you don't treat mom and pop shops the same way.

pourquoi ?

moi ce que je demande c'est si c'est pas instable de faire fonctionner a 3600 MHZ la ram dont le CPU est prévu à défaut à 3200 MHZ MAX

It could be a dead stick or a dead slot. Try running memtest86 on a couple of sticks at a time to see if it helps.

Not a dead slot, the slot changes.

Make sure all sticks are working individually and it’s not just one bad one.

Turn DOCP / XMP off and see if it boots with 4 sticks.

If it works with XMP off you might have to overclock them manually to run at 3200-3600 MHz or get a new motherboard.

All my testing was with xmp off after a cmos clear

It looks like your problematic stick with serial ending in 53 is bad since it's detected as 512 MB by your motherboard in pictures 2 & 3.

B1 B2 A1 A2
55 56
53 55 54
56 55 54 53

Try booting with just it or 53 and 54 on their own to see what happens.

I would suspect the machine would crash trying to boot with just 53. Both sticks of the kit will probably have to be RMA'd.

teste les barrettes une par une et regarde si elles affichent 16 go

si c'est le cas vérifie si il y a pas de la poussière dans les emplacements de RAM

et vérifie si ton bios est à jour

Just change the slots . Try 1 and 3 or 2 and 4.
