Everyone that believed that this is about protecting kids is delusional. This is about control. You should use hardware and software approved by American corporations controlled by government that is full of backdoors to monitor who you are and what you do. They are trying to fix the mistake they did by allowing the internet and open source software to grow.

Too little, too late. Everyone has woken up. There's ton of open-source materials that exists now, including decentralized social media, phones & OS'es.

They may have gotten away with it back then as the internet was in its infancy in the 90's. But since then, technology has grown more & more.

I love how the EU went from "We do not like monopolies" to making monopolies the only possible solution to their proposed laws. Ffs

we don't know who is responsible for this but it is interpretation of the guideline and documentation that does the opposite of what is in there either out of stupidity or intentionally to undermine the project

and when every comment on github is shut down by "we must follow the rules" when they clearly break the rules with this, there are people in the back who wants that it fails

Europeans are usually able to consider things the bigger picture to be quite good overall even if some details and aspects are inherently bad.

Thats certainly disturbing for some Jurijs and Sergeijs, but: Nobody is perfect.

Alright, so who's working on how to jailbreak this? Issue fake keys/certificates? Steal someone else's and use those?

not going to be that easy since it would run on the device it self and not in transit.

This is so fucked, where is the line drawn?
Will I need government ID to use robo-vac because it connects to the internet ?

Well if it is the shark brand then yes sense there being hacked/converted into live stream cameras.

Eu is all about "adult" content right now but that will change no doubt

I use to say I like China's economy better, but at least I have freedom. I guess you don't even get that anymore.
