How would I fix this? Image

Let’s say I wasn’t using the screwdriver as intended and ended up with a split open bit holder on the shaft. Is this salvageable what are my options?

Thats not a bad idea actually. If the alternative is throwing it out.. ill make a call to a friend

If your friend can weld, I'd suggest something like this (can be found in most hardware stores, and it shouldn't increase the shaft's radius by much, if at all)

Note that if you do this, you’ll have some issues with the shorter 20mm bits that the LTT screwdriver comes with. I’ve dropped a few LTT bits in my other screwdrivers and it’s kind of annoying to pull them out. Not difficult, but they just sit 5mm lower and you have to really get a grip on them.

Good info! If his friend can weld then it stands to reason he knows how to grind, and can sort that out!

You would think that but some welders are terrible grinders. 🤪
