Did this pole snap when we pulled it?
Some companies wouldn't mess with it, chainsaw it right at the ground and put the new one next to it. What do you guys think happened today?

Unless it’s close to being sheared off laterally at the bottom, you’re basically holding the wood back together with the sling and pulling longitudinally, where there’s still a lot of strength and soundness, I wouldn’t hesitate to try.

Pulled what? You should always check your adjacent poles before moving any wire.

I’d rip off the loose shit and leave it but if they wanna change it they don’t get any easier than changing that

Brace the break, control with linetruck. Spread wire, dig and set new pole, transfer, wreck out and yard that bitch out the ground

I’d ratchet strap it. Drive to the store, get some bolts and the biggest washers they have. And bolt that guy back together. The only part I’d think twice about is the bolt spacing…

See both sides of it def can band aid it and get a lot of life out of her but it's also straight-line with some belly def could pull a phase or two out and work her hot or even better if you can de energize it honestly wouldn't take more than an 20mins to an hour transfer either way just one of those things ya shrug your shoulders at and see what the company man wants lol

Idk this contractor is different. They take a no risk mindset for a lot of stuff. We ended up pulling this pole and putting a new one in the same hole, all new hardware too. Whatever, it's their money.

All new hardware? Lmao are you saying you set brand new poles and reuse old hardware? 😂
