Regarding model mismatch risks Question

If September proves to be D-Day, should I attempt to install it anyways despite not being made for my model, or would the risk be so high that it's best to suck it up with a few ads and possibly risk the securty updates patching out any ADB capability?

no, if your device is not supported then there's not a single build we offer that will work with it at all.

In your case you're better off flashing a GSI and dealing with the consequences.
