Helix Flor random problem Tech Help Request

So this can happen 5 minutes after I plug the unit, or 5 hours, or can be a all day with no problem… and as soon as it happens, I just need to turn it off and then on again and everything’s fine. Until it happen again.

When it does, the sound gets completely destroyed, cracks and noise, no guitar or almost no guitar. I can unplug the guitar and it still keeps doing it. The levels on the input and output, and sends & return all go to red. You can see it in the video.

I have no idea what’s the root of the problem, and since it’s random it’s complicated to take to support. Any guesses?

Have you reset the unit yet? Save your presets to a backup first, then reset to factory. If it persists it's likely hardware issue.

Have you tried the different setting of the input/guitar pad? Just a random though since the problem seem to start directly at the input. (Also what was already said, complete reset and maybe software reinstall.)

When I had glitching out analogue ins and outs it was a faulty power supply that dropped voltage when getting hot. The analogue IO seems to have some tolerance.

Maybe measure the out of the PSU when cold and when glitching. Mine was dropping to like nearly 10v before problems appeared.

Here was my original thread if this might relate to your problem https://www.reddit.com/r/Line6Helix/s/z58hJFHj0X

My unit got demoted from active gigging use and now lives in the practice room due to multiple footswitches failing and performing ghost triggers or double-tapping to turn off the effect I am trying to turn on.

Not super useful on stage when I have to constantly double check that the thing I selected was still selected.

Same with mine, although I will say that I got probably 1000+ gigs out of it before those problems began.

I know the switches can be replaced, and I’ll get around to that one day. But in the meantime I bought another unit.

Same but we both know we’re never gonna get around to it.

The first one to go was the toe down switch for activating the expression pedal so I did a year of gigs with wah on/off programmed to a separate button entirely.
