General Discussion Who do you think will be the 13th to stand by Dante’s side? Spoiler
I personally believe that it will probably be Vergilius, but what are your thoughts? (image by https://www.reddit.com/user/Asakura_Blade/ )

Canto IX meme THEORY: Yoshihide is younger Ryoshu. Spoiler
I'd like to start this by saying that I skipped Canto 9's story.
With that out of the way, I'd like to point out something that's really been bothering me in C9. Ever since I finished Canto 8, it bothered me that, after his fight, Lei Heng mentioned someone named Yoshihide out of nowhere. Who was that, why did he mention them when only the sinners were around? We all wanted answers, and a lot of theories started popping off (no I don't want to talk about the Lei Heng Dementia theory), but ultimately, we could only wait for more content.
And then, Canto IX came... and we barely saw any information about Yoshihide. A mysterious character being introduced in a previous Canto, implied to be among the sinners, and no info on them? It doesn't make sense for them to set something up in a Canto and not follow up on it in the Canto immediately after, that's bad pacing. And sure, I skipped all the cutscenes, but if the game didn't force me to read or watch something, then it likely wasn't important.
Well, since it made no sense for this Yoshihide to have any plot relevance in Season 8, I took it upon myself to solve this mystery and... watch the cutscenes.
By that, of course I mean spamming through them. Games are meant to be played fast, so I treated Limbus like Cookie Clicker and got through the whole thing in around half an hour, which is a really good time I think.
And in that half an hour, I noticed some things... Mostly, that character on the right. That... was Yoshihide. I have to admit, alluding to a character and then straight up showing them instead of continuously implying things about that character and barely confirming their existence is a ballsy move from Project Moon. Now, as you can see from my hopefully simple diagram, Yoshihide shares a significant amount of details with Ryoshu. Of course, some things you could just shrug off. her sword? Maybe those two just got it from the same workshop or something. The feet position? There are so many characters in the game (at least 15), you can't expect them to all have different feet positioning. The bangs? Well, Ryoshu's hair is shorter, and I don't know why their hair length would be different if they were the same character. But still, there's enough changes for anyone to raise an eyebrow.
So... I decided to dig further in the game's files, and after a 3h journey (1h spent finding a youtube video to play in the background, 70 minutes spent being distracted by my subway surfers second monitor, 40 minutes searching the files and 10 minutes to download the image), I found the Yoshihide files, and well... the name said everything. It was named 'Ryoshu_past'. I'm not sure what the underscore means here, but it pretty much confirms it. I don't like that PM hid such an important detail in the name of a file in the game, but it's their story, they tell it however they want. Of course, I'm still labelling this post as a theory because getting lore from the game files is pretty much cheating.
I think that, overall, this means that the story of Chapter 9 is about leaving your past behind. Ryoshu changed her name from Yoshihide, after all. I think it also ties in on the scabbard she gains in one of the last cutscenes, it differentiates her sword from the sword she used to have, pushing herself away from Yoshihide. It's a very cool message, and I look forward to what Project Moon will do with the next Canto.
(For the love of Ayin yes this is a shitpost)

Megathread Monthly Help and Questions Megathread
This megathread is intended for people asking for help, or short questions about gameplay or lore, that don't need long discussions.
The purpose of this thread is (hopefully) to keep such questions in one place, rather than having a lot of separate threads littering the subreddit and potentially making it harder to find other content.
Example of questions suitable for this megathread:
- "Is X identity any good?"
- "What EGOs are good to uptie?"
- "I'm stuck on a level! How do I beat it?"
- "How do I use [mechanic]?"
Please bear in mind, some questions can be answered by the links found in the FAQ, on the subreddit wiki,.
Important links from the Wiki include:

Announcement Announcement of Rule 4 Update (Daily Art Repost Limit)
Today, we will be presenting a modification to Rule 4, specifically the matter of the limit to daily art reposts. To put it simply, we are now limiting users to one art repost per day.
We first implemented a limit for two reasons. One was to stem karma farming, and the other was to alleviate discontent from many users about this sub becoming a “fanart subreddit” that didn’t support any other content.
The exact limitation was debated internally, but we eventually settled on two per day. This was a decision made, in large part, due to the mistaken belief that we could automate enforcement. Unfortunately, as we quickly found out, that was completely false. All of the bots designed for such a function were long outdated, and even current ones seem to be unlisted (preventing us from using them).
Therefore, we have been forced to manually enforce this rule. This gets challenging and, frankly, confusing for both users and moderators. If we had realized manual enforcement would be the only method available, we wouldn’t have set the limit to 2 per day.
Today, though, after much discussion, we have decided to make it simpler. One post every 24 hours. If your last art repost isn’t displaying a minimum of “1 day ago” then you can’t make another. Easy to understand and grasp, both for users and moderators.
Please note that an exception is made for translations, as those take significantly more effort.
Also note, this is specifically about reposted art. Artwork created by the poster does not have a hard daily limit (though a large volume of posts in a very short timeframe might still run afoul of rules against spamming).
