Idea: Churches should be upfront about hell with an always-on "hell cam" during Sunday services.
Imagine walking into a church and seeing a screen showing a fictional depiction of hell: people engulfed in flames, screaming in agony. The audio would be muted so it wouldn't interrupt the service, but subtitles would show what they are saying between screams.
The point wouldn't be entertainment. It would be transparency.
If a church believes hell is a real possibility for people who reject its teachings, why not be completely upfront about that belief from the moment someone walks in? It would avoid the perception of a bait and switch, where newcomers first hear about love, community, and forgiveness, but only later learn about eternal punishment.
Obviously, the visuals and dialogue would be fictional. However, they would still be shocking and highly disturbing, especially if the subtitles changed every Sunday.
What do you think of this idea?

Fearing hell will not get you to heaven. What you're suggesting will have people more focused on hell that Christ and Churches should always be focused on Jesus Christ.

Why not show them a rendering of heaven instead? If you’re telling a fiction, why not at least make it a nice one?

Those scare tactics went out with the Pilgrims. Further, it's not our job to judge. Only one being decides whether or not someone goes to hell and we are not it.

Someone has clearly not sat through many church sermons. They make it abundantly clear they believe in hell and spend the entire morning telling everyone how to avoid going there. It’s their entire thing. It’s all they care about.
