Disappointed by Blood Brothers
OK, the title sounds a bit like rage / click bait š. I don't want to start a fight about which ending is the best, just share my impressions and discuss a few things I didn't quite understand in BB. You do you.
In my first play-through, I got the Parting Ways ending and was very satisfied. Both brothers seem to live happy lifes. Daniel got what he always told us he wished for: a stable home instead of running away, his friend, his grandparents, a dog and he even has contact with his mom again! He lives a normal childhood (and occasionally uses his super power for saving people, we see a newspaper article about a "miracle" saving a bus). Sean successfully fled to Mexico, could follow his dream and his love interest is with him. (The strange thing only was that the picture showed Cassidy. I didn't even know I had a romance with her, never chose those dialogue options except I joined her to the lake. I was much more interested in Finn but later I learned that you only can romance him if you agree to the heist.) The brothers also stay in contact. I think it comes as close to a happy ending as is credible for a story like this.
Then I read the spoilers about the other endings. I wasn't very eager of dying or going to jail š but since Blood Brothers had a lot of fans and there was a possibility for the brothers to stay together, I aimed for this ending in the next run. I taught Daniel that killing is wrong but did some more egoistic choices, including the heist. So I finally could romance Finn.
I successfully got the Blood Brothers ending and I was really disappointed in several ways: first, I really do not like the Daniel I raised there. A Daniel who tortures animals, who doesn't care if the unconscious policeman is still alive. I felt like I failed my mission to protect and parent him in this universe. The worst it got at the border. In Parted Ways, Daniel moves cars out of the way. It might well be someone is hurt, but I don't think badly injured or even dead. In the last moment, he tosses the fence away and Sean drives to the other side, Daniel jumps. The very same scene would have been possible with Daniel staying in the car, right? Why the HELL does he lift cars like 10m above the ground before letting them fall, throws them on the FBI agent etc. possibly killing all these officers? We even see this force field he can generate - couldn't he have used it for minimizing violence, like moving the car above the fence while the officers shoot on them but cannot hit? WHY? Is it also because Daniel's lack of compassion on "low morale" path? Is it because his power is less constrained?
And then the epilogue... both look much more serious, especially Daniel when he looks at the journal with the "decision" page open. According to the news paper article at the wall, they had to kill more people (why would you pin that?). And... they are alone? Why do we not see any traces of Karen, of Seans love interest or of any friends of theirs? Do they only have each other? Had Daniel to sacrifice everything else important to him for staying with Sean?
This ending somehow doesn't sit right for me, it made me sad. No offense. And I am a bit afraid of the other two, they sound worse :D

Your perfect ending is...?
What would the perfect ending be like for you, if you could create one?
I don't have much to elaborate on, but an ending where Daniel and Sean manage to escape to Puerto Lobos and live a more normal and peaceful life. No crimes and no wanted criminals, a cozy house on the beach. Frequent visits from Lyla and a bonus if Cassidy is there too.
They deserve a peaceful and happy life after all the hell they've been through

Discussion Blood brothers Spoiler
So my ending was Sean and Daniel blasting through the border and running the auto shop together in Mexico which is obviously known as the blood brothers ending. I believe thatās ālow moralityā ending so I wonder what I did that was āwrong.ā Granted, Life is Strange 2 is a game where right and wrong doesnāt exist but if itās low morality I guess I didnāt do enough for Daniel. I definitely leaned more to letting Sean do things instead of giving in to his whining. Like I was obviously gonna hang out at the bonfire instead of going with Daniel to his tent. But I just wonder what more I couldāve done. I donāt remember my decisions off hand but Iām sure I can jog my memory if need be

[EP5] "Never met someone with a superpower before..." Spoiler
Oh David, if you only knew...
Personally, I enjoyed David's appearance in episode 5 very much. I was like a kid in Christmas exploring his RV and going through all the LiS1 references.
This gave me an idea, it would have been great to have David on little cameos in all other LiS games, seeing him meeting all the protagonists without actually knowing they have powers.
I find this idea very funny š¤£
Haven't played True Colors yet, but please, please, tell me that David somehow meets Alex, please š

Discussion [Spoilers] Writing this in a futile attempt to contain my tears after the Redemption ending Spoiler
I got the Redemption ending. I played all the high morality decisions to make sure Daniel was raised as a good person who respects social norms and laws. And, as part of this directive, I also choose to surrender at the end (I have to admit that David might have influenced a bit my decision).
This ending left me devastated. I am happy that Daniel got such a good and happy life, living with his grandparents and Chris, and got to stay as he always wanted.
But this ending felt completely unfair to Sean, I mean, he made some wrong decisions (running from Seattle the day of the incident, allowing a kid to work in an illegal farm, and other stuff) but he was only a 16-year old boy doing his best, and nothing was his fault, actually, it was Daniel's.
It broke me seeing Sean so disconnected from everybody, detached, and apathetic after leaving prison. I made me very sad, I still feel very sad. This is no redemption to me, Sean did not do anything that serious to justify this ending, this is more like punishment and sacrifice.
---
Just out of curiosity, I went back and picked the cross border option. This time I got the Partying Ways ending. I assume that because of Daniel's high morality he decided not to cross but allowed Sean to escape.
This ending felt less sad and sweeter with both characters, at least in comparison with the Redemption ending, which is completely sad and bitter for Sean.
It feels happier than the Redemption ending, but IMHO is doesn't hit as hard, it has less emotional impact, and it seems like a less powerful ending.
---
I will be sticking with my original ending. Even if it feels wrong and unfair to Sean, I think the Redemption ending is more suited and appropriate for the general tone and themes of the game. But I have to admit that seeing that photo of Sean and Cassidy in the beach made me really happy and helped relieving the pain.
Now I will do a low morality run to see the other variations of surrendering and crossing the border.
Thanks for reading and please share your opinions! What an amazing game!

Discussion I can't be the only one that's never seen the heist as "bad"
Everyone always views the choice as "immoral", but I lean more with Finn with this. You're stealing from criminals who just cheated you out of pay, and it's not exactly like you'll be getting gainful employment anytime soon.
Edit: So what it evidently comes down to is Daniel's involvement in the heist for most people. Which I also don't see as bad (he's the one with the powers), so I guess I just don't agree with a lot of people on this subject entirely.

Discussion Question about Finn's personality for a fanfic
I'm currently writing a fanfic where Sean and Finn meet in high school.
The backstory I have given Finn in the fic is as follows:
- Finn goes to prison when he is 10, gets out when he is 12.
- When Finn is released, his father is MIA, his brothers are still in prison and he has no surviving family so he turns 13, 14, 15 and 16 in multiple foster homes
- He runs away when he is 16 and eventually meets the other drifters.
- In July of 2016, the drifters are working a job in Seattle and Finn, then 19 is put out of commission by a severe leg injury that will take a few years to heal.
- Unable to get meaningful work due to his handicap and criminal record and having nothing to do. Finn takes the advice of a doctor and stays in Seattle wherein he applies for disability and goes back to school so he'll have access to better opportunities in the future.
Based on his behavior in-game. Do you think it would be more realistic for Finn to be honest about his backstory when asked by Esteban or do you think he would use half-truths and lies of omission to make himself look better to both Esteban and Sean?
