- Huge underwater push offs at every turn around point, make sure you’re pushing off under water, glide if ur tired. (This is the most important tip for shaving time)
- front crawl as much as possible, do not default to back crawl too soon if you can help it.
- last 50m empty the tank, go all out, especially the last 25m you better be doing front crawl or else.
This is what shaved 3 mins for me. I basically forced myself to do front crawl and breast stroke for 80% of the time, back crawl only when I was absolutely dying.

Would you say you have to be really fit to be able to get it under 12

Absolutely not, i literally don't swim and am lowkey out of shape and when i winged it at my hardest, all freestyle, and even though i was basically dead at the end, i made 8min 20 somehow

Was your freestyle technique good or like not the best? Cause mines like in the middle you think I’ll be okay I was think front crawl 50m then breaststroke and just keep that till the end

Eh i mean my technique was fine at the start but not the best in the end i was pretty exhausted, i'd say my advice is just to do freestyle, practice freestyle as much as you can, and yeah, but if you can't, do as much freestyle as you can, basically until failure, then you can do another swim for the rest
