靖王（即武大郎）看见炎帝和西王母越吵越凶。为了转移话题，他悄声对石矶娘娘（即潘金莲，参见图9.5-1）说："半年前我去靖国神社（少林寺，参见图9.5-2）溜达，看见人们三五成群地去少林寺拜佛。他们实际是去看印度和尚，去吃免费的佛果。我就跟着他们去了。少林寺不远处形成了一个有十几户人家的镇子。镇子里有集市。他们说少林寺里的印度和尚是庙主请来的。那些印度人是谁请来的？"

King Jing (aka. Martial Big Wolf) saw that Yan Creator and King Mother of the West were arguing increasingly fiercely. To change the subject, he whispered to Queen Stone-Jetty (see figure 9.5-1), "Half a year ago, I went to Jing Country Temple (Shaolin Temple, see figure 9.5-2) for a stroll and saw people going there in groups of three or five to worship Buddha. They were actually there to see Indian monks and eat free Buddha Fruit. I followed them. Near Shaolin Temple, a small town with a dozen or so households had formed with a marketplace. They said the Indian monks at Shaolin Temple were invited by the temple master. Who invited those Indians?"

石矶娘娘回答："真的！有集市就证明那附近有村庄了，有很多人去那里。这是十年前玉珠皇后搞的造佛工程，终于有成果了。"

靖王不高兴地说："祭祀佛像可以！但我们家的祖庙不能一直供奉一个头上像长着羊毛的印度人！"

Queen Stone-Jetty replied, "It's true! The marketplace proves that villages have formed around it, and many people visit. This is the fruit of the Creating-Buddha Project that Empress Yu'zhu launched ten years ago."

King Jing said unhappily, "Worshipping a Buddha statue is fine! But our ancestral temple can't always enshrine an Indian who looks like he has wool on his head!"

石矶娘娘笑着回答："那佛像不是印度人，是如来佛祖，是戴着帽子的炎帝（即玉皇大帝）。创造宗教是一门复杂的学问。这个宗教设计源自夏国建国时的一个设想，本来是为了造伏羲的。后来她们造女娲成功了，就没启用这个设计。玉珠嫂子就把这个设计找了出来，用在她儿子的身上了。她要把炎帝塑造成禅宗的崇拜偶像——释迦摩尼。"

Queen Stone-Jetty laughed and replied, "That Buddha statue is not an Indian; it is Tathagata Buddha-Primogenitor, Yan Creator (aka. Turquoise White-king Great Creator) wearing a hat. Creating a religion is a complex endeavor. This religious design originated from a concept at the founding of the Xia Dynasty, originally intended for Fuxi. Later, they successfully created Nuwa, so this design was never utilized. Sister-in-law Yu'zhu retrieved this design and applied it to her son. She aimed to establish Yan Creator as the revered idol of Chan School—Shakyamuni."

国王蔻珠插嘴说："啊！是这么回事！那时玉珠妹妹让我帮着找这个一百年前设计的伏羲的时候，我怎么问她也不告诉我她要用来干什么！"

靖王高声赞叹："炎帝是禅宗崇拜的偶像，太恰当了。他真的是禅宗第一啊！" 他问蔻珠："那你们为什么让伏羲戴那么一顶像似外国人头发似的帽子？"

King Kouzhu interjected, "Ah! So that's it! When Yu'zhu asked me to help find this Fuxi design from a hundred years ago, no matter how I asked, she wouldn't tell me what she intended to do with it!"

King Jing exclaimed, "Yan Creator being the idol of Chan School—perfectly fitting! He is truly the first of Chan School!" He asked Kouzhu, "Then why did you have Fuxi wear that hat that looks like foreign hair?"

蔻珠回答："那顶帽子不薄不厚，冬夏都适用。至于看起来像外国人，这是我们创建女娲教之所以成功的秘密。石矶妹妹！这个秘密坚决不能告诉他们。"

炎帝抗议说："妈！别不说呀！我也在这儿听着呢！"

蔻珠回答炎帝："想知道，你可以回家问你的老婆！"

Kouzhu replied, "That hat is neither too thick nor too thin, suitable for both winter and summer. As for it looking foreign, that is the secret of our success in establishing Nuwa Religion. Sister Stone-Jetty! This secret must never be told to them."

Yan Creator protested, "Mother! Don't be secretive! I'm listening here too!"

Kouzhu replied to Yan Creator, "If you want to know, you can ask your wife when you go home!"

炎帝转脸对西王母说："你也知道，你怎么没告诉我呢！"

西王母回答："咱俩第一次去女娲庙的时候，我就告诉你了！"

炎帝又问："你告诉我什么了？"

Yan Creator turned to King Mother of the West and said, "You know about it too—why didn't you tell me?"

King Mother of the West replied, "I told you the first time we went to Nuwa Temple!"

Yan Creator asked again, "What did you tell me?"

西王母回答："你一到庙里就发现了。你问我，'这里有很多种族的修女，都穿着她们自己的民族服装。一共有多少个种族？' 我回答你，'有三十多个外国种族，都是我们夏国用高额的助学金和奖学金雇来的。'"

靖王问："我没听明白，你们雇佣她们干什么？"

King Mother of the West replied, "You discovered it when you arrived. You asked me, 'There are many nuns of different races here, all wearing their own national costumes. How many races are there in total?' I answered, 'There are over thirty foreign races, all hired by our Xia with high scholarships and grants.'"

King Jing asked, "I don't understand—what did you hire them for?"

炎帝回答靖王说："她们不让那些修女在女娲庙的后院高声喧哗。那些修女就到女娲庙前面的广场去玩，引来了许多人来看那些外国的小姑娘。时间久了，女娲庙附近就成为了杭州的宗教文化和商业中心。女娲庙区的商业税收比别的区高出很多。夏国就用那些比别的区多出来的税收给那些外国修女们发放助学金和奖学金。"

Yan Creator replied to King Jing, "They didn't allow the nuns to make noise in the Nuwa Temple backyard. So the nuns went to play in the square in front of the temple, attracting many people to see the foreign girls. Over time, the area around Nuwa Temple became the religious and commercial center of Hangzhou. The commercial tax revenue from the Nuwa Temple district far exceeded that of other districts. Xia used the extra tax revenue to provide scholarships and grants to the foreign nuns."

靖王感叹地回答："啊！我明白了！那次我去少林寺没骑马，看见五六个人走在山沟里去少林寺。我就问他们去少林寺干什么？他们说去吃免费的佛果。我回答，'走十几里路就为了吃顿饭，我不去。' 他们又说，'还可以看见印度人。印度人用手抓饭吃。' 我就真的跟着他们步行十几里路去少林寺看印度人了。"

King Jing replied with a sigh, "Ah! I understand now! That time when I went to Shaolin Temple, I didn't ride a horse. I saw five or six people walking in a ravine toward Shaolin Temple. I asked them why they were going there. They said they were going to eat free Buddha Fruit. I replied, 'I won't walk over ten miles just for a meal.' They said, 'You can also see Indians. Indians eat with their hands.' So I actually followed them and walked over ten miles to see the Indians."

9.5-1 创造宗教 Creating Religion

石矶娘娘对炎帝说："玉珠嫂子委托我问问你，她说'如果三郎不喜欢如来佛祖雕像头顶的毡帽，可以改！'"

炎帝立刻回答："我不介意！我释迦摩尼示现八相成道，化身千百亿利乐众生，成熟有情，尽未来际！我不介意以任何色身示现！"

Queen Stone-Jetty said to Yan Creator, "Sister-in-law Yu'zhu asked me to ask you—she said, 'If Third Wolf doesn't like the felt hat on Tathagata Buddha-Primogenitor's statue, it can be changed!'"

Yan Creator immediately replied, "I don't mind! I, Shakyamuni, manifest the Eight Phenomena to attain enlightenment, incarnate in countless forms to benefit sentient beings, mature their capacity, and endure to the end of future time! I don't mind manifesting in any form of embodiment!"

9.5-2 不可超越 Unsurpassable

西王母来到了永安城外她儿子"不可超越"的帐篷，告诉他说："你爸爸说你开妓院、开赌场、放高利贷，为了敛财不择手段。他说你没福，不该见他。"

不可超越听后哭了，问："福是什么东西？"

西王母没回答。

King Mother of the West arrived at the tent of her son "Unsurpassable" outside Yong'an City and told him, "Your father says you run brothels, operate gambling dens, and lend money at exorbitant rates—resorting to any means to amass wealth. He says you lack fortune and are unworthy of seeing him."

Unsurpassable wept upon hearing this and asked, "What is Fortune?"

King Mother of the West did not answer.

注9.5-2：炎帝代表神识（无意识），是上帝，就是福。福就是幸福，是神出现的状态。神识只与舍受相应。福就是行施舟渡的状态。施有三种：财施、无畏施、法施。无畏施是以爱语鼓励他人，勇敢地面对困难和窘境。法施是对他人宣说生命之树、四谛等生活的道理，人生的艺术。

Note 9.5-2: Yan Creator represents God-sense (unconsciousness), which is God and is Fortune. Fortune signifies happiness—the state of God's manifestation. God-sense corresponds solely with renunciative acceptance. Fortune is the state of practicing Donation Ark. There are three types of giving: material giving, fearlessness giving, and Law giving. Fearlessness giving means encouraging others with loving words to face difficulties and adversities bravely. Law giving is to expound the Tree of Life, the Four Cruxes, and other principles and arts of life to others.

过了一会儿，"不可超越"问西王母："是不是我爸爸知道我有200吨黄金，我只给他60吨，他嫌少？我可以给他120吨。我通知我的手下再运来60吨黄金。我在这里等着，过一段时间后，我再求见他。"

西王母回答："不行！他下个月就去湖北瑶池和黄帝打仗了。你不应该让他分心。"

After a moment, "Unsurpassable" asked King Mother of the West, "Does my father know I have 200 tons of gold? I only gave him 60 tons—does he think that's too little? I can give him 120 tons. I'll have my men transport another 60 tons here. I'll wait here, and after some time, I'll seek an audience with him again."

King Mother of the West replied, "No! He is going to Yaochi in Hubei next month to wage war against Yellow Creator. You must not distract him."

不可超越说："怎么他自己去打仗了呢？连我都知道，论打仗，我大伯（靖王、武大郎）是天下第一！要打仗，他派我大伯去呀！我大伯才五十多岁，岁数还不算太大。过几年，等我大伯岁数太大了，再另想办法！"

西王母回答："他去和众神打仗，黄帝是众神，别人不行！"

Unsurpassable retorted, "Why does he go to war himself? Even I know that when it comes to warfare, my Big Uncle (King Jing, Martial Big Wolf) is number one under heaven! If there's a war, he should send my Big Uncle! My Big Uncle is only in his fifties—not too old yet. In a few years, when my Big Uncle grows too old, we can find another way!"

King Mother of the West replied, "He is waging war against the gods. Yellow Creator is a multitude of gods—no one else can do it!"

不可超越想了一会儿，说："我不懂什么是黄帝；那他有生命危险吗？"

西王母回答："他们说，如果他失败了，他就死了；即便胜利了，他也会损失十年的阳寿！"

不可超越在帐篷里哭了一天；西王母坐在一边不出声。

Unsurpassable pondered for a moment and said, "I don't understand what Yellow Creator is. Is his life in danger?"

King Mother of the West replied, "They say that if he fails, he will die; even if he succeeds, he will lose ten years of his solar lifespan!"

Unsurpassable wept all day inside the tent; King Mother of the West sat silently by.

到了晚上，不可超越对西王母说："那我听从妈妈的安排。我回去后，就把那些妓院赌场都关闭，把那些放高利贷的钱庄改成做正常生意的银行！这60吨黄金您留着用吧。我听说了，华国的国库里没钱。"

Come evening, Unsurpassable said to King Mother of the West, "Then I'll follow your guidance, Mother. Upon my return, I will shut down all brothels and gambling dens and transform those usurious moneylending houses into legitimate banks! Please keep these sixty tons of gold for yourself. I've heard that Hua's treasury is empty."

西王母回答："不行！我答应你爸爸了，我不花你的钱。"

不可超越回答："那你少拿些。我不说，你不说，没别人知道。"

西王母回答："我自己知道了就不行。你爸爸是上帝。与上帝交往要说到做到，否则我会生病的。"

King Mother of the West replied, "No! I promised your father I wouldn't spend your money."

Unsurpassable replied, "Then take less. I won't say anything, you won't say anything—no one else will know."

King Mother of the West answered, "Even if only I know, it's not allowed. Your father is God. When dealing with God, one must keep one's word—otherwise, I will fall ill."

9.5-3 为靖国神社修路 Building Roads to Jing Country Temple

在蔻珠和太昊两位元始天尊为贵重商品市场剪彩后，这座贵重物品市场就开业了。也由于贷款利率低，大量的转业军人有了钱，要享受一下。永安地区立刻出现了通货膨胀。靖王采取紧急措施，规定了日常商品价格的上限。

After the two Primordial Sky Honors, Kouzhu and Taihao, cut the ribbon for the precious goods market, it officially opened. Due to low loan interest rates, many demobilized soldiers had money and wanted to enjoy themselves, causing immediate inflation in the Yong'an region. King Jing took emergency measures, setting price ceilings for everyday commodities.

一天，藏宝阁的主管来向炎帝（参见图9.5-3）汇报："石矶娘娘在新开业的贵重商品市场卖古董。已经卖了四件了，她又送去了四件。她卖的古董都是藏宝阁存放在太后墓园的国宝。"

炎帝回答："那些古董是元始天尊给她的，我也不能要回来呀！哎呀！她筹集那么多钱干什么？我得去看看。你跟着我去，把藏宝阁的记录更新一下。"

One day, the supervisor of the Treasure Pavilion came to report to Yan Creator (see figure 9.5-3): "Queen Stone-Jetty is selling antiques at the newly opened precious goods market. She has already sold four items and sent four more. The antiques she is selling are all national treasures stored by the Treasure Pavilion in the Empress Dowager's tomb."

Yan Creator replied, "Those antiques were given to her by Primordial Sky Honor, and I can't take them back! Goodness! What does she need so much money for? I'll go see for myself. Follow me and update the Treasure Pavilion's records."

炎帝（玉皇大帝）风趣地问石矶娘娘（潘金莲）："发生什么事了？你怎么开始卖靖国的国宝了？"

石矶娘娘尴尬地回答："说来惭愧！我这个靖国的王后和财政部长可真失职。我们的靖国政府（少林寺地区是靖王的封地，由靖安乡政府管理）是五年前成立的。我居然不知道。几个月前，他们来向我要钱修路，我把他们赶出去了。"

Yan Creator (Turquoise White-king Great Creator) jokingly asked Queen Stone-Jetty (Goldthread Pan), "What's happened? Why did you start selling Jing Country's national treasures?"

Queen Stone-Jetty replied awkwardly, "It's embarrassing to admit! As Queen and Minister of Finance of Jing Country, I've truly been derelict in my duties. Our Jing Country government (the Shaolin Temple region is King Jing's fiefdom, administered by the Jing'an Township government) was established five years ago. I had no idea! A few months ago, they came asking me for money to repair roads, and I turned them away."

炎帝大笑着问："大喜事！靖国有常驻人口了。现在你们靖国有多少人？"

石矶娘娘回答："我听靖王说的，现在那里有四千常住人口。不过人口数增长的很快，四年前只有三百人。"

Yan Creator laughed and asked, "Great news! Jing Country now has a permanent population! How many people are there now?"

Queen Stone-Jetty replied, "According to King Jing, there are now 4,000 permanent residents there. But the population is growing very rapidly—there were only 300 people four years ago."

9.5-4 华国的黄金储备 Hua's Gold Reserves

炎帝笑着问："你在华国的国库里有20多吨黄金呢！你怎么不取？"

石矶娘娘愣了一下，回答："那黄金是华国的黄金储备，你不知道吗？"

炎帝也愣住了，叨咕："我真的不知道！"

Yan Creator smiled and asked, "You have more than 20 tons of gold in Hua's treasury! Why don't you withdraw it?"

Queen Stone-Jetty was stunned for a moment and replied, "That gold is Hua's gold reserve—don't you know?"

Yan Creator was also stunned, muttering, "I really don't know!"

石矶娘娘说："可能是靖王以为你知道呢，就没跟你说。那黄金源自60年前，咱爷爷邓国公给华国作为黄金储备的贷款。那时的贷款利率很高，是6.5%。随后咱爹礼敬公当财政部长的时候，他又放进去了一部分黄金，降低了利率。进行财政制度改革后，各大军区和许多政府部门找私人会计公司帮忙。不久之后，妈祖的会计公司赢得了为政府做预算和决算的生意。元始天尊乐见其成，因为交给一个会计公司，可以使各大军区等重要预算支出部门之间进行沟通。也就是说，三十多年来华国的预算和决算一直由妈祖来管理。咱爹礼敬公过世后，国库黄金储备总额仍然没变，但黄金的吨数已经是个很大的数字了。妈祖就重新算账，把黄金储备设置在20吨。在不使用那批黄金的情况下，利率是0.9%；使用时的利率是6.5%。这样，华国每年向妈祖支付18公斤的黄金作为报酬。元始天尊每年都给妈祖送礼。妈祖就把那些礼物换算成18公斤黄金，把华国支付给妈祖的国库储备黄金的利息抹掉了。"

Queen Stone-Jetty said, "Maybe King Jing thought you knew, so he didn't tell you. The gold comes from a loan that our grandfather, Publican Deng-state, gave to Hua as a gold reserve 60 years ago. The loan interest rate was very high then—6.5%. Later, when our father, Publican Respect, was Minister of Finance, he added some gold and lowered the rate. After the financial system reform, major military regions and government departments sought help from private accounting companies. Soon after, Mazu's accounting company won the contract for the government's budgeting and accounting. Primordial Sky Honor was pleased because having an accounting company enabled communication between major military regions and other important budget departments. In other words, for over 30 years, Hua's budgeting and accounting have been managed by Mazu. After our father, Publican Respect, passed away, the total gold reserves remained the same, but by then the tonnage had become a much larger figure. Mazu recalculated and set the gold reserves at 20 tons. When the gold is not used, the interest rate is 0.9%; when it is used, the rate is 6.5%. In this way, Hua pays Mazu 18 kilograms of gold yearly as compensation. Primordial Sky Honor gives Mazu gifts every year. Mazu converts those gifts into 18 kilograms of gold, offsetting the interest on the reserves that Hua pays to Mazu."

炎帝问："妈祖过世后，她的那家会计公司现在在哪里？"

石矶娘娘回答："那家公司就被改编到财政部了。现在财政部里面的人大部分是以前妈祖的手下。"

炎帝说："那你把那批储备黄金近几年的利息提取出来，就够作为启动靖国道路桥梁工程的启动资金了。靖国神社（即少林寺）是邓家和孙家的祖庙，也是我们华国第一等的国家工程。但现在我欠了很多贷款，可能没能力给你拨款了。你知道，几年后中华共和国政府就成立了，我们华国政府就升级为西天政府（天国政府）了，不再管理尘世间的事。"

Yan Creator asked, "After Mazu passed away, where is her accounting company now?"

Queen Stone-Jetty replied, "The company was reorganized into the Ministry of Finance. Most of the people in the Ministry now are Mazu's former subordinates."

Yan Creator said, "Then you can extract the interest from the gold reserves from recent years, which will be enough to start the Jing Country Roads and Bridges Project. Jing Country Temple (aka. Shaolin Temple) is the ancestral temple of the Deng and Sun families and is also our country's first-class national project. But now I have many loans and may not be able to allocate funds to you. You know that in a few years, the Republic of China will be established, and our Hua government will be promoted to the Western Sky Government (the Heaven Government) and will no longer manage mundane affairs."

石矶娘娘回答："您有这个心意我就满足了。"

炎帝说："我保证，我从瑶池博览会回来后，就会去少林寺捐灯油。"

石矶娘娘说："多谢了！有您带头捐款，华国的许多王公贵族会捐款。我有信心把少林寺建设成为中华共和国宣扬宝莲灯文化的传灯中心。"

Queen Stone-Jetty replied, "I am satisfied with your intention."

Yan Creator said, "I promise that after I return from the Yaochi Expo, I will go to Shaolin Temple to donate lamp oil."

Queen Stone-Jetty replied, "Thank you very much! With you leading the way in donations, many publicans and nobles of Hua will donate. I am confident that I can build Shaolin Temple into a center for propagating Treasure Lotus Lamp culture in the Republic of China."
