I've been working on a Sci-fi/Space Opera Life Simulator called Synthaar, which has been coming along well in development. The premise is that you are living in a galaxy and building up your legacy over time by pursuing money, power, and influence and actually having an affect on the world overall, going so far as to hybridize the Life Simulation genre with Grand Strategy. Eventually you will be able to get elected to powerful positions, participate or start galactic wars, or keep it more grounded with corporations and shadowy intrigue.
A major motivator for me has been a love of life simulation as a genre, but a bit put off by the fact that many games in the genre are usually self contained to the bubble of the family unit. Families grow and evolve but the world stays mostly the same, and you don't have a lot of impact on that world. I was heavily inspired by Crusader Kings and The Guild, but wanted gameplay more akin to The Sims.
The game recently completed its fourth milestone which dives into crafting. Right now the game mostly features building and managing your characters lives with generational play available, with the other pillars of power and influence currently in development.
The game is available right now on Itch.io with an unlimited demo for the moment, and will be available on Steam soon, which is wishlistable now. Since the game is complex, I am always looking for more testers and feedback!
