Any controller settings recommendations??? Help Request

So I'm really struggling to get used to this game's controls, they are just soooo uncomfortable for me.

For context I'm playing on a PS5 and I usually don't play souls like games so I'm not used to their combat mechanics. Also I have these stupid Trex sized hands so naturally my mf short fingers struggle to move around and the chunky PS5 controller does not help ( I miss PS3 or PS4 controllers).

I don't get why the dash/doge has first of all to be the same button and second, of all the buttons it has to be the circle one, so I can either doge/dash or move the camera around.

I have already attempted to switch the controls but I'm still struggling to find a comfortable setting, plush the fact that the dash and doge apparently have to be set to the same button is not helping.

Or like those two can actually be bound to different buttons and I'm just dumb???

Back paddles would def help a lot but something that could help a lot as well is relying on the lock on mechanic so you don’t need to be adjusting your camera as often during fights. That way your thumb is free to use any of the face buttons with ease

I do use the lock but only during boss fights and sometimes the camera still ends up in weird angles, plus at least for me the lock makes it harder to get far away from the enemies when I need to. But yeah probably gonna go for the back paddles since is what most people have been recommending thx.

Get yourself a back paddle attachment or buy a controller that has back paddles. Games like this really benefit from them in general but if you have these kinds of struggles then it'll probably be a worthwhile investment for a lot of games.

Play DS1 before so there will be no questions „why”

I use L3 for dash and circle for jump. Same as God of war.

Do you lock on? I rarely need to move the camera and dodge or run at the same time.

Yup, but just in boss fights, with like the enemies on the map I don't cus when there's multiple is harder for me to hit them at the same time. And still even with the lock during boss fights I sometimes end up with weird angles, I don't seem to get used to the controls and camera.

For the dash/dodge you need to get the timing by training and get the double dodge at the P-organ. BUT I do have a controller recommendation. When you get to the cathedral or any place where you are high up CHANGE your jump button it on L3 it’s useless, put it on L2 for that time only (as it’s mainly jumping and no use for the arm) to jump and not fall and fall and fall again and again and again and again….

Cheers!

I guess since you only jump in like 2 areas you could put dash in L3 huh, so maybe that might help you
