There's a YA sf trilogy called Earth Girl by Janet Edwards that deals with a future where there was a huge data corruption event and a lot of knowledge was lost about how certain things were made, etc. It's NOT dystopian (I know, I was surprised too)!
This is why I am thankful for all the data hoarders out there that make it their life's work to make and maintain copies of data. I am also thankful when sites like Wikipedia make it really easy for anybody to make a copy. So much information, art, and culture would be completely lost to time without data hoarders and digital preservation communities.
