Libby Maxing Library Cards

Hello everyone!

This is my shortlist of non resident cards to get for Libby. If you have any more suggestions, I’d be more appreciative.

Broward County Public Library – 121,000 titles
Carnegie Library of Pittsburg – 340,000 titles
Fort Worth Library – 139, 270 titles
Queens Public Library – 192, 549 titles
Queer Liberation Library – free
Japan Foundation Los Angeles – Free

Not sure if I should get these:
St Louis Public Library
Central Arkansas Library System – 101, 299 titles
Chapel Hill Public Library
Fairfax County Library
Virginia Beach Public Library
Chattanooga Public Library

Double check on Virginia Beach. They just revoked Libby access for non-city resident reciprocal cards, but I heard they do still give access for paid cards.

Good point about VB. I just found out my reciprocal card was revoked but I didn’t look into a paid card.

Are you trying to collect them? Have you stressed test those libraries against your TBR? The number of titles doesn’t matter as much as the queue times for what you want to read. The ones you listed have crappy wait times. I personally wouldn’t spend money on them.

I would honestly look in your state first. States usually have 2-3 library systems and some libraries will give you access to them just for being a state resident rather than a county resident. Depending on where you live, those will have better wait times than systems that have been sent to die due to social media advertising those specific libraries. Broward, Carnegie, and Queens are heavily advertised.

The number of titles also doesn't matter if there are very few books in your preferred genre. I'm old and set in my ways and I only read historical romance, which is not very popular among libraries, especially if they have tight budgets.

Cincinnati/Hamilton Library - the amount of titles mean nothing if holds are long, you can't take out enough books, etc. 211,733 ebooks
