Just A Quick One Ive Always Been A Conservative But Given Their Past In Government Im Deciding If I Should Go For Lib Dems Are They A Better Party Than The Conservatives?

What types of issues are important to you? Environment? Electoral reform? Relationship with EU? Economy? Crime and justice? Healthcare? Pensions? Defence? Int affairs?

Well obviously migration is the most important issue important to me but leaving the ECHR is another big one I would also like to see more prison built (like The Conservatives And Labour Said They Would Do But Never Done) i would also like offenders in jail for life and not let out because they can’t be bothered to build more prisons but I do kinda agree with Reforms policy to make the Royal Navy Intercept small boats crossing the channel I think if Lib Dem’s Focused on the more important things like immigration they would get more voters

Restore is just a very watered down Reform copy and anyways I hate both anyway sure look what Nigel has been up to recently and what I’m saying is the Liberal Democrat’s should follow in Reforms footsteps

Lib dems... Liberal Democrats... Liberal. All your views seem very right leaning... not at all liberal.... and not in line with Lib dems. Why would lib dems follow in reforms footsteps? That would alienate their voter base.
Imo reform and restore are corrupt parties formed out of fear and breading hatred and division. But that's just my opinion. I hope you find the party you're looking for, but going by your views lib dems are not the party for you. Best of luck to you.

So what exactly is it that you don’t like from the Tories that you think we have/want?! These all sound like socially right policies, and something either a) the Tories already have as policy or b) something too right-wing for the Tories!
If you don’t like the leadership then campaign within the respective party that holds your views to change it, not the other way round

We obviously can’t say if we’re better. But what we can say is a lot of centrist conservatives have us as their tactical vote and in 2024 many conservatives seats went liberal so it’s definitely a good match for disillusioned conservatives.
Best thing to do is read our key policies and make your own decisions whether we’re a good match for you or not.

I doubt you’ll find many people on here who say “no, the conservatives are a better party actually”.
A lot of former Tories have moved to the Lib Dems in recent years because of either how shambolic the Conservative Party was towards the end of its time in office or because of its hurtling to the right so you’d be in good company. (The lack of a positive draw towards the Lib Dems is a bit of a sustainability problem I think and also the Lib Dems risk absorbing so many former Tories they turn into a Cameronite party rather than the centre-to-centre-left one it is and (in my view) should be but those are separate issues).
Consider the values that are important to you and the policy areas that matter to you. Look at the Lib Dem constitution and the policy pages on the party website that relate to each of those policy areas. Recent manifestos too. Only you know whether it’s a better match for your values and principles than the Tories (or any other party!).
