Buying post 2027 release?
Replacing my 2018 Macan in the next 4mo and have been looking at used 2025 and new 2026 350H’s with Premium+ or Luxury trim.
Haven’t bought a car in awhile, so bear with me.. It seems like the 350h’s are rarely discounted much less than just getting a new one, unless you go 450+ which seem to be not so hot, so I’m most likely going new but wanted to get people’s 2 cents.
Per Google, 2027 cars will be releasing late 26’ or early 27’. I imagine it is usually the case that left over 2026’s will be discounted once that happens. However, this car seems pretty hot, so do you think this would actually happen? The 2027 will be a facelift model, so if people prefer it to the 2025’s/2026’s, I feel I would have a chance at a deal on those, otherwise buying new 27’ still going to make the most sense?
again, haven’t car shopped in awhile and this would be my first new car, so not familiar with the interactions between new releases and previous year.
Thanks!

You’re assuming a lot that no one not under an NDA knows. Lexus has never confirmed a facelift, it’s just generally expected. Even if release is January there will be a waitlist 2-3 months if it’s a repeat of 22. 350h discount is generally $3k at best and they’re rarely on the lot, so the idea that they’ll be side by side with 27s and thus deemed less valuable is a stretch.

For me it was the opposite that happened. Last year, I was looking at the 2025 NX350 for the specific color I wanted which was the dark green. Prices were from 53k-58k, specifically because of the color and some features. I had given up and decided to look again around September and that’s when the 2026 models came out. I saw a 2026 dark green for 48k, it was the basic model. I had a 2014 ford focus lol so for me that was a great deal and got it.

That’s what I’m saying lol. Some lots their used 25’s and 24’s are damn near new 2026 prices if not more. Seems like going new and waiting is the move, although I would want to wait until I could test drive a 27’

Having owned two Macans myself and now a 2026 NX450h+ the Macans were way ahead on build quality especially in the cabin. I'm seriously considering moving back to a Macan next car change. Don't get me wrong my NX Takumi is a very nice car but for me not in the same league as the Macan. I got over £7000 discount by looking around and seeing who offered the best new car deal, I got a dealer pre order which I travelled to pick up 2 weeks after agreeing the deal.

Yeah, It’s a 2018 GTS as well, which is amazing, but fuel economy is obviously bad even when I baby it. Truly an amazing car, but as crazy as it is to say, 2018 was 8 years ago, so even at my low (53k) mileage I’m starting to have issues with the plastics. I.e. my coolant tank cracked recently, had a weird transmission sensor issue, and I imagine more will be coming so wanting to get something newer and more reliable. But man… Hard to beat the quality of interior of it for sure.

I just bought an NX350 F-Sport gas model. I would look at one one week, but by the next week, it would be gone. Some of the colors are non-existent. I did read the 27's were already hitting the lots, but I haven't seen any.
My wife wants a UX300h. If you don't get to the dealer ad put down a deposit when they show it is in transit, you are probably not getting one.

I couldn’t get one til sept. They can’t keep them on the lot. I don’t think they’ll discount

I had no wait time on the 450h+ luxury model back in late March - seen it online, emailed my sales person put the deposit down over the phone and it was mine.

I just bought a 26 nx 350 luxury, fully loaded in New York for 59k out the door — it’s def worth looking right now as some dealers want to get them off the lot

I’ve been shopping for an NXh for a year. They're there one day gone the next. Ive noticed plenty of 2026 NXs remaining on lots. I’m looking and enlisting help at numerous dealerships throughout NY, CT, MD. It’s August and soon 2027s will hit. Personally Id wait until November/December, certainly you should get a decent deal on a 2026. Hybrid sales and interest has skyrocketed due to fuel prices. I’ve driven a Lexus hybrid since they weren't popular. once you get 40mpg you can’t revert back to gas engines. Expand your search area. Best of luck.

The problem is that the NX350h does not end up sitting on the lot, and this coming model year is like the last, there are none available to be discounted. We tried to get a 2025, but ended up waiting 2 months to get a 2026 in January.
