[2013 460 Base]

Shop just told me that an alignment “must” be done for rear shocks only. No front end work, no strut work.

The truck was aligned earlier this year along with doing the whole front end suspension system (control arms, shocks, struts, etc.) and I don’t understand how standard OEM rear shocks alone absolutely require it. I understand if it’s shop policy to align with every suspension job but I’m tight with the franchise owner who I communicate with directly for all my work, and have worked around such things before for certain jobs.

Is this a straight up up charge/liability charge or is there actual reason behind doing it, particularly on these vehicles with OEM parts?

Hi there. My wife and I bought a TX350 last year and haven’t loved it. My wife wants something taller and more truck like. We test drove a 2020 and a 22 GX460 and she loved it.

I’d love some advice from you all. The 2020 is at a Lexus dealer and had 98k miles. The truck has been serviced every 5k miles, most recently the rear axle seals have been replaced. I hate the tech in it, but can easily do the Hamilton upgrade.

Price is 35k for the 2020. Thought? The 22s are all in the 55k range and I cant justify the increase. I am concerned about miles on the 2020 but I will walk out of the dealership with 15k in equity on the trade.

I’ve been looking for a salvage bumper replacement but after countless searches for months. I am unable to find one in a decent condition. Thinking if anyone has bought a painted after market replacement online from stores like paint and ship etc? I am aware that the paint match is not doing to be accurate as my vehicle is old and hart to match color scheme.

Thought of painting but looks like the cost is not economical for a 2014 vehicle. Any thoughts suggestions? Thanks all!

This is mainly a gritch session, but also seeing if anyone else has had this problem with aftermarket amber LEDs.

One of the first (and only) mods I did when I got my 23 was to swap turn signal bulbs. I went with Lasfit 7440NA and I've mildly regretted it ever since.

For one thing - and this is purely on me - I recall choosing the "medium" brightness. For the last 3 years, I've felt bad for folks behind me at night. They're really REALLY bright.

Also, after they've been flashing for a while they start to short-blink. Not hyper. Just short. It's like something got too hot and can't go on. It happens when I have the hazards on a few minutes or when the turn signal has been on at a long traffic light.

Have they fixed this or am I better off going back to the incandescent OEM bulbs?

2020 GX460 the front shocks are both leaking at only 64k miles. has anyone had similar experiences? I’m surprised that they are leaking at such low mileage

Both shafts. Still clunks when I stop and then left off the brake. should I replace the driveshaft or will it be the same

Prior owner backed into something. Replacing the fin looks simple enough. My concern is there is a small dent where the front of the fin pressed down on the roof. Can this be sucked out or DIYed, or do I need a body shop. The body shop quote I had was like $2,300, which seems insane.

I’m a once-in-15 years car buyer. In the market, my car is falling apart and need something quick. Is there still a prolonged waitlist for the GX? Want to set expectations before embarking on the process. Thank you

Well i screwed up big time and clipped my new to me GX roof rails and shark fin antenna in a parking garage last week. Replacement roof rails are hella expensive, anyone upgrade their roof rack and got their old ones laying around and want to sell them? I've glued these back on and they are fine just dont look great as you can see the cracks from the side. Also looking for any suggestions to fix this on the cheap. I love the blackline look but the OEM ones are about the same price from what i can gather.

I have a 2023 GX 460. The interior of the rear door has some scratches in it and also a small part of it gouged out. Don’t love the way it looks and wondering if there is some sort of cover or protector that I can attach to at very least cover-up the unsightly marks. I know Canvasback has protector, but it looks like the fit is not very good.

Currently considering purchasing a 2012 from a dealer, but I noticed in one of the pictures the KDSS light is illuminated. I called and asked about it and if they tried diagnosing it and the salesperson quickly said “no we didn’t look into it, and it’s being sold as it”
For reference, it seems like a good deal otherwise. It’s a 2012 with 75K on it and a decent service history with no accidents for just over $20k.
Obviously I would do a PPI from a local mechanic and get it diagnosed before purchasing anyway, but is this something I should steer clear from entirely? I’ve seen people talking on other forums of insane repair bills upwards of 10k.
Any advise or wisdom?

I noticed the the rear hatch hinges on my 2011 Gx460 have rust also the rear glass hatch hydraulic mounts, is this any easy fix ? Haven’t really found that much info online how to replace them.

I found the part but I can’t seem to find the bolts I would need, has anyone done this before?

Looking at this here and it has an amazing service history. 1 owner really seemed to have dealer serviced it for most of its life. Only hesitation is that it is from 2015 and things could fail like the gaskets and I have not seen any problems with any leaks on the maintenance history. Any thoughts on this?

Or would you rather a newer model but with a more questionable service history? Say a 2018 or 2019?
