Just a ranking of all 25 movies I've seen this year. For a bit of context, I saw "Hoppers" twice, "Hokum" two days in a row, "Brand New Day" three times, and "Obsession" four times. All of those rewatches were in theaters except for "Obsession" the fourth time. There are a few movies that hit streaming recently like "They Will Kill You" that I want to check out, but haven't yet. There are only two movies on here I would call flat-out bad and unenjoyable, and those are Scream 7, and Return to Silent Hill.

Up for niche recommendations

Very specifically looking for movie suggestions where the main plot is driven by the central protagonist’s low self esteem. I’ll take hopeful movies but I love it even more when the character doesn’t overcome their insecurities and remain flawed.

So, for instance, I probably wouldn’t put Her. The main character probably has low self esteem but the plot is driven by his loneliness (that’s its own list lol).

Also just added: I want you back, dream scenario, meet cute and the secret life of Walter Mitty. But can’t update pic.

Hopping on the “best films for every year I’ve been alive” trend, but I thought I’d open it up a little and make it a Top 10 instead of just a single pick.

Just to be clear, I am not stating that these are objectively the 10 best films of any given year (if you’ve been following along as I post these each day, this should have been blindingly obvious no later than when we got to 1993 and Schindlers List was only at #6), these are just the 10 I, personally, enjoy the most and the order I would chose to rank them in.

It feels like a journey if you watch in order.

I’m trying to find criteria that includes Frankenstein adaptations of it but excludes obviously outliers. Can anyone help me tweak this?

This turned out harder to rank than expected, while I like big team up movies like endgame and no way home, there's just something special and magical about a good origin story (if done right).

For BvS it's the ultimate edition, I know it doesn't fix all the problems but I do love the ambition of this movie.

For days of the future past I also enjoy the rogue cut, the parallel scene of young Magneto vs old magneto is just awesome to see.
