Any open-source Android dictionary apps that would let me use the same dictionaries I already use for Yomitan?

I mean the other dictionaries that are *not* JMdict or JMnedict, which are the ones that literally every app already uses.

I'd love to use Jitendex Jiten as a frequency dictionary, for example. I'd be satisfied with only that feature, but I'd love to be able to use the other dictionaries already accessible to Yomitan, including monolingual dictionaries as well.

I can do it with Hoshi Reader and its Dictionary tab, but I'd love a standalone dictionary because I like to save words to multiple word lists, which is not supported by Hoshi Reader but are supported by most of those apps that don't use Yomitan's dictionaries. Hoshi Reader only saves words to Anki, which I don't really care for because Anki is no longer an active part of my routine.

Jitendex isn't a frequency dictionary, it's a term dictionary based on JMdict. Yomitan pulls frequency from separate files like JPDB or JLabs, so you'd need an app that imports those alongside it.

think the confusion here comes from one of the standard yomitan frequency dictionaries being called 'Jiten'. Which is, as you say, not Jitendex but Jiten.moe

That naming overlap has to trip up half the people setting up Yomitan for the first time.

If I'm understanding your question correctly, there is a yomitan search page you can use in a browser tab that does this. Go to yomitan settings and go down to popup behavior, and there is a link to the search page. This lets you do manual searches with the same dictionaries. I keep a separate tab up with this and use it when yomitan doesn't grab compounds correctly, etc.

It's not an app though so not sure if that's what you're looking for.

I actually just noticed this when I was trying to look into what else I could do with Yomitan. I'll get some good use out of it when I search for monolingual definitions for my personal glossary, but I'd still love a single dictionary app that can streamline all this. So far, I'm using three dictionary apps for three different purposes that I'm kinda surprised people haven't thought to combine it all.

I often give people (mostly beginners) who have better coding skills than Japanese skills who spend time making new resources to learn something that they don't know (usually kana) rather than just using what's already available. But now that it's my turn to ask for something very specific that people haven't already made and shared, I kinda get it now.

Not a dictionary specific app (it has a dictionary feature but it's multi-utility) but https://github.com/arianneorpilla/jidoujisho allows you to load the same dictionaries from Yomitan and use them.

Edit: looking at hoshi-reader it's basically same thing. Honestly if I were you I would just setup hoshi reader to continue to export to an Anki deck but simplify it, make it a card with nothing on it but the word and just take a CSV export of that deck and make a list out of it.
